I've been wanting to get started this project for about a year now but other more urgent projects have taken up my free time. It was based after a zscuplt I did a while back and now I have some spare time and I want to finally work on this thing. A dumpy little fish with man-boobs. I did a quick sketch over the sculpt to try and focus my ideas. He's going to have electric eels in the tank on his back to power his jumper cable weapons.
Critiques and comments are as always welcome!
(Please excuse the sloppiness I am no concept artist lol)

Looks like fun :) Keep going!
Interesting, funny concept. How are you going to pose him? He's going to have to be leaning pretty far forward in order to balance the weight of the tank on his back. The tank filled with water would probably be almost as heavy as the rest of him.

This looks awesome. Because it has so much stuff to carry, I wouldn't think it would be able to carry all of the gear. I would fatten up the legs so it looks like it could withstand the weight it is bearing.

Oof sweet concept. The sculpt looks great especially the wetness of his skin. Whats that rendered in?

@jmt I was planning to make him kinda hunkered down, leaning forward and knees/ankles bent so the tank is closer to to the top of him because in default pose it looks as though he could fall backward at any moment lol, I also may make his belly bigger to act as a counterweight to all the crap on his back
@burtonyang That is a great Idea, I'm currently sculpting atm so I will try to give his legs some more girth. I am going to be looking at warhammer orks legs as I sculpt for refrence since they are usually pretty top-heavy as well. It seems although their legs are short, they are nearly as thick around the ankles as their arms
@ChrisPerr It is currently rendered with zbrush, I was fairly suprised how effortless it was to get decent renders out of it.
Should have an update by the end of the day.

Loving the design and looking cool so far. You should have the fish hook hanging down off his lip. It just looks weird being forced up how it is when the weight should bringing it down. Up to you, I might be wrong. Everything else is coming along nicely.

Awesome!!! I totally love it!
Should really have the hook in his mouth like he went to eat the worm or whatever on the hook and it got caught?

Heres what I got done last night, re-tooled a lot of his large detail shapes and started some of the stuff on the face for fun. Tried to make this guy look like he could both put the gear on and the run around with it on to try and reflect the critiques. I'm not really happy with the burn scarring I did on the skin around the eyeplate. Its too much high frequency detail and not enough medium.
@itismario Moved the hook downward to give it a little more weight as suggested.
@3Drobbo I can't believe i over-looked the way i had the hook in! lol thanks for pointing that out.
If you guys see anything else lemme know! I'll be sculpting more today.

This is looking very good.
Just a couple of things: The inside of his mouth would be better if it looked more like the fish mouth in the picture 3Drobbo posted and should a fish have a bellybutton? If so, you should define it more.

I think the jumper cables could need a bit of work now, the rest of the fish looks awesome!

Damn that title is a trap. The only thing I can read from it is "boobs" and I always click it like reflex even though I already know what this thread is all about. DANG IT

Of the many times I love to see huge, inflated nipples on characters, I think this is one of the very few exceptions I think the concept might sell better without them.
Lovin' it so far :)

Modeling is good, but the welds on the metal are great. Good work.

Looks nice, you could always add a wheel support for the bathysphere.

looks like a lot of fun! cant wait to see it textured

yeah I am really looking foward to the lowpoly and textures! Only thing bothering me in the highpoly is how you are subdividing objects without smooth and then trying to smooth it out. It is leaving the shape of the polygons behind.
Why not do some of it in a modeling package and then bring it in and detail it?
In anycase... cool stuff man! Keep the updates flowing.

Yeah, I found you! Awesome, as always!

How is the steering wheel connected?
@Jeremiah_bigley - I don't think they're actually subdivided but I could be wrong. I know he's got the model broken down into a lot of subtools so it might just be the material?
Looking great man, finish this up!
