Hey guys,
I´ve written a tutorial for exporting your first object into the CryENGINE3 SDK. Feel free to check it out here (http://www.simonfuchs.net/folio/tut01_getting_started.htm) and let me know if anything is unclear.
Cheers,
Simon

first of all thanks for this wonderful tutorial! I tried following it and managed to import my object into ce3sdk but I'm having a problem exporting the materials from 3ds max 2012 to ce3sdk. Whenever I press the "create material" button it opens up the sdk but when I tried saving the .mtl it only shows one material not a multi/sub object material. Is this normal?
Make sure the material you have applied to the object your exporting is a Multi-Subobject material, AND make sure it's assigned to the object as well.

hello HP, I followed your tutorial video and I tried exporting the mesh first before creating the material and it suddenly works! :poly121:
edit: quick additional info
I found out that when I'm in the slate (material) editor mode in 3ds max, if I export the material it always become a normal material. I think exporting multi/sub material only works only if using the compact (material) editor mode.
