Using chrome, works fine. Good job by Respawn for allowing this. Great way to get some good PR and provide some useful information to kids who might not have a clue about what it takes.

Really good write up. Pretty much exactly what I tell people when asked.

Does anyone actually use different resumes for different studios? I just send a standard animation reel plus resume and reel breakdown; sometimes I'll include other pieces of animation that might be a good fit for that studio's style (or they'll ask to see more targeted work).

Every single job I have ever applied for has had a different resume/cover letter tailored for the studio I applied at.

Great article, thanks for posting!

A lot of it is advice I've heard around, but it's always great to have this kind of thing reiterated. The job-specific advice section was especially helpful!

sorry but do you mean resume and cover letter?
for me the cover letter is a personal note of my interest in the studio, but the resume is a simple log of my major skills and relevant (to games) work experience.
If I were to write an individual resume for each studio I don't know what I would put in each one.

also I have another issue along these lines.
I get that people want to see work in the style of the studio. but what If you dont have any?
Should you... make a quick peice before you apply? or just not even bother applying.
it makes sense that if you dream of working at a studio you match their style but what If your just looking for an opening in any studio?
does that make me a whore

A big plus is basic technical knowledge like scripting or rigging.

Tailored resumé for the games industry, leave out all the irrelevant experience. Tailor coverletters for different studios if they require one.
