Can someone point me to a script, or a method, to quickly move the working pivot to a vertex? A simple, select vertex and press button would be ideal.

I made a maxscript to do this type of thing before, it tries to align it smartly based on what subobj you have selected

hopefully thisll do the trick for your case: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=83445

That looks like a nice script. It places the pivot at the average of the selection though?

I want to move the pivot to 1 vertex (just as Edit Working Pivot does). It's so I can select multiple vertices and scale them all from the new pivot point.

select that one vertex before you run the script then ;)

OR, try this script (http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/visual-pivot-placer): :)

What Miauu said. Visual Pivot script kicks ass. I just use it constantly in my workflow.
