View Full Version : Assets for Animation - Subdivided/Meshsmoothed?

Hi guys, thought maybe some peeps from polycount could answer my question:

I'm currently doing some models for an animation firm, and was wondering if it's the norm to model your asset with the intention of it being turbosmoothed/meshsmoothed at the end?

For example, the asset would look super jaggy/exaggerated in lowpoly - but when your use turbo-smooth it looks correct..

Are you providing them with max scenes? If so I'd say give them the model with the turbosmooth applied. If you collapse the stack you lose some useful options that come with the turbosmooth modifier. Plus the animators would have to work with your high poly model in high-poly only rather than the turbosmoothed lighter mesh.
