Hello, :)

I'd like to show you wip. The ocean wave and shader in UDK.
It's not complete yet. We are doing for practice. I did the shader,light and fx,etc.

It doesnt show well on the interior shot, but the exterior vid is really nice!
Not exactly realistic, but really fantastic for a surreal/stylized game type. I would add some smaller froth bits to show the scale and the makeup, atm its reading as liquid glass :)

Btw, It says no tessellation, is there actually deformation on the surface? Or is that all shader fanciness?

The water looks closer to foil rather than water, the specular is too strong and is not defined enough.

- Make the only light in the scene the sun, this will make it easier to get your specular highlights right.
- The colours seem really wrong, even for a warm ocean, try darker, greener colours.
- The waves themselves look more like ripples, they have no direction and are too strong, thats probably throwing out your specular too.

Ocean shaders are really difficult, but keep at it, you can get some great results.
