Don't know much about Steampunk, Google does...

What I know is that Steampunk means Steam=boss. So plenty of pistons, exhausts, furnancy-things, water tanks and stuff.

What Google know is that your primary colors are brass (or any other metal in that area) and black. Do remember it's set 19th century, so nothing over the top futuristic.

Hi Nero, I'm a 3D game artist, and I'm thinking about creating a SteamPunk Game/Artbook for my post grade diploma... I've got like 1500 steampunk images... and already did a good search on the internet about it... If you want to talk, just send me a e-mail.

I loooove steampunk! I'm more than willing to help out with style/look-and-feel, modelling, animation, whatever...

I'm on-and-off working on an animated short using UDK as the renderer, but I can make time for anything anyone might want, since I'm not on any sort of external schedule with this thing (It'll be done when it's done, sort of thing).

If you want to see my modelling style/ability level, check out my WiP Thread at UDK (http://forums.epicgames.com/threads/821150-Journeys-End-WIP-Thread), or ask me to post here. I've been an artist and sculptor for about twenty years, been in the CG arena for about ten. I have Maya and Zbrush and getting-to-grips experience with UDK.

PM or reply here for more info (or...< sniffles > a rejection! :()

Cheers!

Callum

Hi there, I'm a person who is a part of the Steampunk culture, so I may be able to help. First off http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk is a good place to start, particularly the forums. Within there you can find the Aural-Ocular section, which deals with Steampunk as represented within various forms of media, or Tactile, for the crafting & showcasing of things. In general, all I'd have to say is don't go overboard. If there's one thing we hate, it's people just sticking cogs and gauges and other assorted crap and saying "voila! Steampunk!". In fact, this song covers most issues we have: Just Glue Some Gears On It (And Call It Steampunk) - YouTube

So I have to say that, between the song and a few questions on the BG forums, you can get pretty much all the information you need.
