Hello, first post here, having a bit of trouble in Zbrush 4.

I've sculpted a terrain plane for a game mockup, polypainted it, and now for the life of me cannot get the thing to give me a texture map of my polypaint.

I've given it Adaptive UV's at 2k resolution under the UV Map options.

When I go to the "Texture map" options, and click "New From Polypaint" it simply turns the entire the flat brown color I began on my material that I painted on. No other colors are on the texture map. I cloned it and exported it as a PSD to check, and sure enough, it's a flat brown color in photoshop as well.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks much

Check to make sure no UVs are touching along the 0:1 borders. You can also use the TextureMap: New from UVCheck to check for any errors (red).

This might help? Not sure, google searched it.

Im fairly sure you need to have imported a low poly model with a uvw unwrap applied to the model before hand in your choice of 3D software. Then you can poly paint and export the map with the new texture applied.

You could go the the lowest sub-d level and export that into Maya/Max then reimport it on the lowest sub d and you should be able to reapply the details. Im not sure if there is a load uvw option unfortunately.
