Hi.

Im using the warp texture plugin to make wear and tear fast and easy on models. Dont have the time to unwrap and texture 200-300 k machines each time.

So im generating a vertex map with this plugin and this plugin isnt supported by mental ray.

How do i if possible bake this map as alpha image? when i bake it takes on lights and i dont want that.

Thanks! :D

Vertex colors?

Export Collada DAE (http://www.opencollada.org/download.html) (or maybe FBX) to xNormal and bake away.

EDIT:

Just double checked the xNormal thread. FBX probably doesn't work, but ASE might with the newest version of xNormal.

Thanks for reply! :)

but i dont think that will work because the scratches are made with the plugin and uses a procedural noise map to do it.

Therefore i hope i could just bake this as a flat diffuse with scanline?

EDIT:

Figured it out.

Used it as a mask in blend material with one black standard material and one white and both 100 illuminating, i then put a omni in the scene and checked ambient only.

Put a vertex colour mao in the diffuse slot and then bake a diffuse map.
That will come out with no lighting data
