I'm not sure what the deal is with the white speckles all over the normal map, but some of the problems on your edges and cylindrical objects might be caused by size/shape differences between your high and low poly meshes.

Take a look through this thread, it might help you fix some of the issues.

Erm...Might try fixing this problem before you fix the cylindrical errors. They might be caused by the same thing.

This is some crazy shit btw.

tell me about it... i have no idea what`s going on here... hope i dont have to reinstall 3Ds... although i bought a tutorial video from Eat 3D The Dozer and i rendered the model the same way the guy shows useing Mentalray.. could it be that mental ray is doing something to the bake?? i did switch back to standard scanline... but still the same...

try sticking a push modifer on the low and pushing it out by a tiny amount.
The wiki is great, you should check it out.

I also see that some rays are missing, how does your render window look like in max? Do you get a lot of reds? How does your cage look like?

To get rid of the black speckles I think you need to press 9, click Renderer, Turn off (or on) Global Super Sampling.

ok turining Global Supersampler off works... but the quality is still crap... map size is 1024 x 1024 -.- why it doing this to me!!?? damn thing don't like me lol

if its the supersampler perhaps changing the sampling method would help
