Heya guys,

Ive been checking the TF2 customization thread lately and seeing some pretty authentic handpainted textures, that match the style quite well.

Was wondering if anyone had any brushes similar in Photoshop format i could use?
Or point me in the direction of some that are towards that style.
Currently Working on some painty textures. Would save me a heck of time, so i dont have to create them myself hah :)

Thanks in advance!

I don't think most people use fancy brushes. A hard round brush, a soft brush, and a junk brush seem to be pretty standard. It more comes down to your ability to paint than what brushes you have in Photoshop.

out of the norm for tf2 all you need is a good square brush with rounded corners

Swizzle did a good thread to get people on track.

hope the info helps

and like dustinbrown said it come more down to the individuals creativity and skill rather than the tools used, and since your trying to copy a style use lots of references as you work.

I've been using that square brush from Swizzle's thread for a while but I think I'm going to make some new brushes this weekend. I'll upload them here for anyone else to use too when I get around to it.

Here are the brushes.

The first is the one from Swizzle's thread but I thought I'd share it anyway. The second one is a new painting one that's a bit rougher. The third is useful for single patches or painting if it has barely any spacing.

also a lot of the tf2 texture style relies on good AO bakes and some hand painted highlights and shadows
