I saw this in the newsletter. It looks great and something I am certainly considering as I have yet to start out in ZBrush :/

I bought Jensen's Zen training on hard surface some time ago... he is really skilled in zb hs, and also enjoy the explanation. I guess this will be cool too.

So... How many of you USE Z Brush and create outstanding things with it?

I have only ever used Mudbox. But that also means base-mesh creation in Max, as Mudbox doesn't have anything like Z Shphere.

I used Z Brush once, but there were SOOO many things on the UI that I really was confusing and intimidating.

I love mudbox because it was so simple; but more and more, until Mudbox gets some retopo tools, and mesh-concepting tools like Z Sphere, I think I will need to start LEARNING zBrush.

This DVD looks great, and is something to aspire too. Since I am about to jump ship; do you know of any resources to help me learn the UI and how to mast Z Brush in a short time? This looked more like an intermediate DVD.

I believe The Gnomon Workshop has an introduction DVD for zBrush. The UI is incredibly foreign at first but after a day with it and some video tutorials, you should have it figured out pretty well.

Eat 3D has a couple (http://eat3d.com/zbrush35_intro) of great (http://eat3d.com/zbrush35_character) introduction DVD's for Zbrush, you could get those and this one.

So do eat3d, and they are infinitely better. Gnomon are poop.

he says "Ever so slightly" way to much like in 40 year old virgin. It is drawing my attention away from learning alot.

no it just draws my attention away I get what he means but the term is overused by him is all. Is it bad I noticed that or something?

This video gets Jacka's Big Stamp of Approval, so you know it's going to be good.

Nice work once more to the Eat 3D lads.

Great! Would this be suitable to someone who is relatively new to Zbrush? I was thinking of suggesting it to a friend of mine. He is heavy into mudbox, and a very good sculptor. Just curious to see if it could pique his interest at all.

It would be nice if the custom ZBrush UI was also included with the tutorial instead of having to manually configure it to be similar.

I looked at the trailer and I was wondering: how well does this translate into Mudbox? Could it even do that or is it strictly for Zbrush?

Hugh

strictly zbrush

Hope someone finds it usefull

I watched this the other day. It's amazing. Lots of great information for someone who only wades in the shallow end of the ZBrush pool. Definitely gave me some great direction for more complex pieces.

Only thing is: Looking for a equivalent Mudbox other. :(

Mudbox doesn't have the same hard-surface tools that Zbrush has. I love mudbox, much more familiar with it than Zbrush, but I have to admit, Zbrush has the edge when it comes to hard surface.

Very true.

Mudbox 2012 however.... shit... with Ptex built-in, Zbrush has a strong competitor.

Back on topic though! My friend bought this at work! I've been watching it a little bit and damn, I'm impressed. Solid DVD's. Well done! Worth every penny, I'm going to buy this real soon! :D

I guess I will have to wait a month or so for the Mudbox release, hopefully my school updates so I can muck about with it...

My teachers hate me when I'm modeling when I'm suppose to be doing simulation.

Haters gonna Hate.

anyone see this approach replacing there workflow for high poly model's for just basic environment pieces, or do most people just think of it as a other tool for characters and hero pieces.
