Sorry to post about this on PC, but I figured you guys would know best.
I bought a 26 inch T.V. today and I'm having two major issues right off the bat.

1. No sound during games.

I have sound on my PS3's XBM, I launch a game/demo/whatever, screen goes blue because it's changing to 720p for the game and when it comes back, I have no sound whatsoever. Not menus, not in-game either. Whats bizzare is, I have sound when playing Blu-Ray's off the PS3. Which brings me to my next problem...

2. Annoying stuttering while playing Blu Ray's.

It happens very frequently. Once or twice or three times a minute. Can't really tell if its because the camera is panning, but the image is slowing down and stuttering. This wasn't happening on my little Bravia, but maybe it could be just that I have a crappy GAME HDMI cable? Could the sound issue be that too? The Blu ray I was testing was Lord of the Rings, I hear that has a pretty bad BD transfer, but didnt notice any slowdown on my Bravia. Also, I didn't notice any slowdown while playing games on the big TV, just no sound! http://www.gamestm.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif

Anyone know what the issue is? I'd love it to be that it's just a crap HDMI cable http://www.gamestm.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif Its a nice tv apart from that, I can even record off of it through USB, which would be great for recording some KZ3 headshots http://www.gamestm.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Thanks in Advance.

What brand is it? Do a search for stuttering video and your TV brand/model. Honestly, it sounds like your TV. Especially if it did fine with the Bravia. There may even be a firmware update for your TV.

Audio mode is changing in-game. Check that out. If you had it pump audio through composite and video through HDMI before, it still is. Check the settings.

Video, it might be the 120htz upscan thing messing it up, or it could be a garbage HDMI cable.

Because he is able to play his blu-ray, with audio, I don't think he has a bad system setting... assuming he's using the PS3 for blu-ray. The PS3 has an audio setting for which output to use. I guess it's still worth a check though.

Andreas, see if you can borrow an HDMI cable from a friend. Typically the HDMI cables either work or they don't. Not much in-between. I've only had one issue with HDMI, that MAY be similar to yours. I had an HDMI cable that was 25ft long, and wasn't very good quality, so my XBox wouldn't work properly at 1080p. I reduced it to 720p and it worked flawlessly. Since then, I replaced it with a better cable, and I can now run 1080p.

Thanks for the replies guys :) I think what I'll do tonight is try the PS3 with a scart or similar and see if the sound still cuts out. Hope its not the TV :(
