Maya2011 problems in windows7

Just switched over to Windows7 x64 for XP64 a few days ago and am having some problems in Maya2011 (hotfix3). After a few minutes of modeling in it I lose the ability to select edge loops via double clicking (arrows still work though), and the Connect Components command gives the error:

Pre-selection highlighting also stops working. Restarting maya fixes it for a bit but then the problems return. Anyone got an idea what could be going on?

Are you bringing preferences over from an earlier version? that caused no end of annoyances when I switched.

ya even I'm also also facing same i thought it's my system problem. When ever i start modeling Maya 2011 after my few minutes my system become slow n tool doesn't work properly. If any one has solution please help me.
