Hey PC. I wasn't going to post this here until it was finished but I'm not getting a huge amount of feedback or critique over at Gameartisans and I know I could benefit from it. Also encouragement if you guys like it because who doesn't need that.

1 - One of the main things I am trying to figure out is how best to approach the ponytail. I want a big dramatic hair thing going (aiming for the center images look. I think I am going to sculpt it all and abandon any thoughts of alpha cards. Good idea?

2 - It's a game art challenge but I want to give her a good pose and custom sculpt for folds and muscle bulges in that pose. In your opinion is doing that in accordance with the rules or do I need to t-pose it all the way through? It seems ok but I've always wondered. I don't intend to animate her ever so idk.

3. Is it cool if I run a thread at PC about this since it is a GA thing? If not let me know.

Most recent image (have not started sculpting on hands and much of her costume yet):

More Stuff -

The face - going for a strong look but not masculine. It's hard, I need to continue to refine this.

Back of her vest idea - I might make it more of and eagle crest in the end.

Basically I'm going to sculpt the crap out of this thing and finish off the bakes, ending with Marmoset renders.

Thanks for any help!

I think overall its looking good. The muscles in the left arm from the back view look a little odd to me. In regards to the face it does need to be softened up a bit coming across as masculine. Bridge of the nose, cheeks, and eye sockets stand out to me. I cant really say for sure but seems like the eye sockets and cheeks are a bit socken in. Bridge of nose perhaps could be rounded some more. Good Stuff so far.

Off to a rockin start!

Crits:
Nostriles are too big, not enough bulb in the tip of the nose.
The indent where the nose meets the browline is kind of missing. I'm not sure if you're going for a Mr Incredible sort of nose but I think adding that indent will make her slightly more attractive.
Features seem pretty strong, just a few hints is all you need.
The lips seem pretty full at the corners of the mouth, probably just shrink that in would give a little pout to her lips. Also the upper lip seems to stick out a bit too far giving her a bit of an overbite, which robs her jawline of strength.

I hope you don't mind but I did a quick paint over of your face to help illustrate my critique.

she's got that roman soldier look to her. Different but not a bad different. As long she's not overly-sexualized I think I'll like her.

Thanks for the comments guys, it gives me energy to keep going. When I'm in my own head I'm full of doubts and a million divergent ideas.

@n88tr - My feelings exactly, I am going for a Greek look to the face and the feeling of Riveting Rosie. I think comics and games play to the low brow a too often and just pump up the T and A, easier to do that than try to make a believable and respectable hero character.

@Vig - thanks for the comment and critique, I am very far from refining the face. The nose structure I am going for is based off of greek statues which idealized the curves there a lot. I'll keep your image on screen when refining, lot's to do there.

@felipefrango - Thanks I can't wait to get the sculpting done and move onto my strengths (materials etc.)

@ajr2764 - Thanks for the crit I will address those things. I'm not sure how much I want to buff her up, it's a careful balance to get a beautiful/super strong woman while not going too masculine.

I'm sculpting in t-pose now, but I think I still want to pose her with transpose and do a more refined sculpt. Should I do that or just pose the game res asset in the end? Seems like a silly question but I can't pull the trigger.

Working over parts. Messing around and experimenting a lot. Lot's of little restarts but learning a lot, getting more comfortable.
