First rate hard surface modeling, man. Well done.

It's a nice model but... that's not a USP.

the real gun is called the HK 45. it's a very new pistol from H&K so not a lot of people know the name.
anyway, the model is very well made but your model could use a couple changes to make it closer to the real thing. being a gun nerd it's probably better if i illustrate it...

based on the top right ref in racers pec the extruded bevels are also to pronounced they need to be pulled back into the surface or the surface needs to be pulled out a bit, can't tell which but 1 of them has to happen :D
Other then that some pretty nice hard surface modeling there, it's nice to model things with ref, something i missed with my shotgun i just finished :|

racer, I don't think he was going for 100% accuracy, it's more of a futuristic take

he's modeled a real gun and is giving it the same name as the real thing (albeit the wrong name, but we know what he was going for.) there's nothing futuristic about it.
to make a real item like this, title it the same as the real thing, and say you weren't going for accuracy is just an excuse to ignore criticism.

Gun is looking really good. How / where did you set up the renders for the high poly? I've always wanted to find a good way to present my high poly models but have like no experience with rendering / lighting inside a modeling package, I've only really presented in engine.

just chiming in to say how funny it is when you tick off the gun nuts. Always funny to read the same thread over and over with a different model. Nice model man! Looking forward to seeing this and the SCAR with some color!

nobody is talking about making the model accurate down to the electron. there are simply some tweaks that could be done to make it closer to the real thing. i'm not quite sure why there are so many anti-gun fellows on this board, but i must wonder, do those same people also tell people to ignore accuracy on cars, or even ignore anatomy on characters?
whatever though, let's not derail this thread... AGAIN!
