I'm having a problem and I have no idea how it started. In 3DS Max, when I scale with the scale gizmo, the other axes seem to be scaling inversely along with it.
For example, if I scale down the X axis, the Y and Z axis will follow suit by scaling up. It's the strangest thing. Anyone know if there's an option I accidentally checked or something like that?
Thanks.

I believe theres 3 options for scaling. you can change them by going to the scale icon and holding down, and it will show you. I think the first one is a uniform scale, then like a free scale, then the scale setting that you`ve got now.
must of hit a hotkey that changed it....

Hitting the scale button more than once switches between the scale modes, which can be annoying because you often hit it accidentally when you already have scale tool on, thus cycling through the modes.
If you want to disable this behavior, you can change the hotkey from "smart scale" to just "scale" in the Customizable User Interface under Main UI
