Hi!
Another newbie here, been lurking for quite a while and learned a ton from following the threads in here. Many thanks for that!
This will take a while to finish, at the end i plan to have this in udk as a main portfolio piece. But i still got 1 and a half year until i finish school, so that's perfectly fine to me :)
So i'll just post some pics of what i got so far. Most of the design is very inspired by the Quake4 stuff from Paul Richards (i can't blame you if you can't see that stuff anymore :p)
I'll post some more later, don't want to spam the first post with 10 images. Any crits/feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Paul Richards concept:

...early concept i did for the mood/lighting i'm after:http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/6530/con1.jpghttp://img688.imageshack.us/img688/7784/consolefront.jpghttp://img130.imageshack.us/img130/84/consoleback.jpg

I like it so far- the only thing i'd be concerned about is some things that are not really "popping" out. I mean, it'll make for nice subtle detail, but it might be nicer to have some thickness to the panels. - personal opinion-

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Here's the low poly, now it's texturing fun :)

looks good though I get the feeling that those details could have been more chuncky when looking at pauls concept.
