Hey guys,

Here's a new character I'm working on for my portfolio. I still have to rig and pose him for the final shot.

that's lovely. If I had a single crit, I'd say the arms lack much silhouette. I know he's young but they're quite undifferentiated along their length. Other than that, gorgeous work. And the top view (presuming it's the game mesh) compared to the textures shows your normal maps are working really well- hardly any AO on the cloth, all ocming through in the normals! Great!

The shoes are incredible, in fact the texture as a whole is really impressive.

really nicely modeled and textured! my only concern is he's on the edge of.... unappealing to me. a little scary, in an unappealing way. Maybe the mouth is too big? Also, if he's a guy he needs less manicured eyebrows :) Really nice though!!

He reminds me of chucky, and growing up I was deathly scared of chucky. So this guy creeps me out... But the texture work is really solid and the dog is cute

I will see what I can tweak to change his appearance, because I don't want to do bake him again. If it's creeping you out that was not my intention :D

creationtwentytwo: It was rendered in max's scanline , three lights and ambient.

Nitewalkr: An walk cycle is too much for me :) maybe some idle animation.

seforin: Yep, that's what I planing to do next.

The truth is that I've modeled him with an extreme expression hoping that it will make my life easier on the morphing stage.

Wow yeah, huge difference neosorcerer makes there. I was gonna say he looks a bit creepy/ unappealing but if you fix it like that it'll be perfect.

Hi,

I really love those two! :)
But I have to say that I was assuming that "he" is a girl.
Perhaps it's the high and thin eyebrows and strong upperlids paired with the small nose.
I know that's caused by his expression, which also makes the rendering more interesting to look at than a dull standard-stare. But perhaps it would be a good idea to try and nail down the basic relaxed look now. Unless you really just want one single rendering in the end. Would be a shame though, if you ask me. Those two have great potential.

+1 for the original, slightly wall-eyed version. The "cute" one I've seen a thousand times before. I like the creepy version, it's a bit "edgier".

really great character and awesome base...i really really love it !...only thing i would do is give the dog a bit more pose...maybe show the dog jumping or so ...you know...only a littlebit more dynamical than now...

Spatz: Thanks man. I thought about it and I did some research on animation movie posters and other characters in this genre and usually the pose of the characters is pretty static, so I went with the easy option :)

The only thing I would say is that I actually thought this was a little girl, not a little boy. I think its probably to do with the shape of the face and as neo pointed out, the eyebrows are too thin. Otherwise its a stellar character... looks on par with Pixar!

Hello, new guy here. I just love the life you added to this character, looks perfect to me. He looked like Black, one of the main characters from Tekonkinkreet manga and anime.
