Or left, I'm not sure. Unfortunately, I don't know the validity of this claim, since I can very easily change the direction she spins, but the claim is:
If you were viewing her from the top, a counter-clockwise spin means you're Left-Brained (Logical), and Clockwise spin means you're Right-Brained (Creative).

Now, granted, I have opened this up a few times and seen her spinning in different directions on different occasions. After a little, I tried making her change directions by concentrating, and it's not too hard. Try looking at her feet, and understand that the foot going behind the leg and to the left is going to make her spin counter-clockwise, and behind and to the right is clockwise. If you start at the feet, get it to switch, then focus on the whole thing, it's not too hard to change. We're a little more complicated than "left or right brained," i'm afraid.

scroll down so you only see the reflection for a bit...then quickly drag the mouse up fast scrolling all the way back up and at the same time take your eyes off it by looking at the polycount banner very fast. The figure then goes counter-clockwise in your peripheral vision and you can slowly look down at it and it'll remain counter-clockwise.

Here's another one. It looks like segments of the grid are rotating, but it's really just one grid. Very frustrating, and I already have a headache:

it was clockwise for me like 10 minutes looked away looked back. was anti-clockwise. MIND WAS BLOWN

but according to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spinning_Dancer

"The illusion has been incorrectly[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spinning_Dancer#cite_note-2) identified as a scientific personality test (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personality_test) that supposedly reveals which hemisphere of the brain (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateralization_of_brain_function) is dominant in the observer. Under this unproven interpretation, it has been popularly called the Right Brain–Left Brain test,[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Spinning_Dancer#cite_note-3) and was widely circulated on the Internet during late 2007 to early 2008."

Wild! I couldn't get her to spin counter clockwise for the longest time, then bam! she switched.

Strange that what I saw at first was a clockwise spin, I've always thought of myself as left-brain dominant.

At first glance I see it spinning clockwise, but after some practice it becomes quite easy to switch rotation at will, just don't stare at it, but keep it out of the focal spot, (look at the left or right of the whole picture, a picture wise) and think about the rotation you want to visualize, that's it. Not having to deal with visual details, the brain will fill in with the information you feed it with.

The right brain left brain thing, reminds me of a story NPR did on will power. They suggest its probably easy to occupy your cognitive thought center and the emotional impulsive, creative side will attempt to make decisions. I'm not sure I buy into it but it was interesting to listen too. I would have taken cake even if I had a simple number to remember...
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=122781981

I wonder if people who can only get it to spin one way "left brain" what happens if they try to memorize a 7 digit number then look? Probably nothing as they are driving hard in cognitive mode?

She's spinning counterclockwise and I have science to prove it. Check out the thighs when the two legs intersect, there's a faint white silhouette around the pivoting thigh (bad poser render or something). The silhouette makes it look like the pivoting leg is in front of the extended one when passing and it only makes sense when she's spinning counter-clockwise. QED bitches!

I can get it to switch directions if I stare at the pivot foot long enough. I feel so confused! When she's spinning clockwise I feel the urge to model things and have sex with men, is this normal??

EDIT: Mixed up the brain hemispheres :D

Your assumed perspective makes all the difference in this test, and has nothing to do with 'brainedness'. This test probably only tells you if you're tall or not. If you assume you're taller than the woman, then it would follow that far elements are higher in screenspace and she's rotating clockwise. If you assume you're shorter, or sitting down, then you assume higher elements in screenspace are closer, and she rotates counter-clockwise.

cro magnon method:

from the same wiki link:

If the foot touching the ground is perceived to be the left foot, the dancer appears to be spinning clockwise (if seen from above); if it is taken to be the right foot, then she appears to be spinning counterclockwise.

blur yer eyes and try to force imagine the foot to be of the opposite side to switch direction.
( me a big dummy, so I actually have to chant: "it's the right foot" repeatedly and visa versa )

When the blured version turns in the opposite direction SLOWLY unblur yer eyes.

i got her to alternate spinning clockwise and counter-clockwise every half rotation.
its pretty easy
first cover up the upper body half of the image including the hands, with your hand, then imagine, as the legs are moving away on the left half, that they are instead coming towards you.
then after you can change direction of the legs at will, remove your hand, and try it with the upper body too. at first only the leg will spin towards you, but after some more trying, the whole body will spin.

Well, without the cheat sheet, I would take my eyes off the image and watch in my peripheral vision, and my mind would make the figure do a shuffle as if dancing instead of spinning (like kicking a ball in between the legs), and when I look back depending on which leg was shuffling, it would turn differently.

Either this was an illusion fail or I didnt understand moral of the picture at all.

The idea is, to concentrate at the black dot in the picture and nothing else, so, when the picture actually turns black and white while you're still focusing on the black dot, your eyes will see the surrounding picture as a colored one, but which, is actually b/w.

Called an Afterimage: "An afterimage is a visual impression that remains in the retina after the initial stimulus is removed. The afterimage always has colors that are complementary to those of the original image."
