Hi,

I'm trying to render my model using Xoliul's max viewport shader (no shadows version), but when I'm placing light source, light from it comes from a different direction. Its kinda frusrating and annoying.

If it helps, I'm running it on GeForce 8600GT.

thanks in advance.

Did it light correctly before you applied the shader?
Anyway, try the usual max-tricks. Reset x-form (tools tab), convert to edit mesh and back, attach a box and delete it. Oh, and check that your normalmap is correct (no channels flipped) and that your normals are pointing outwards.

Render as in "render" or take a screengrab? It's a realtime shader so it won't render as in hit-the-teapot so Max processes an image.

Is it Max 9? If so, it's a bug and you really should go for Max 2009 or 2010.

Are you using a normal mapped object? If so, try flipping or swapping channels.

well, I guess thats it :) I'm indeed using Max 9, though didn't knew that its different from Max 2009. :poly122:

other tricks mentioned here didn't work, but thanks anyway :)

Have the same issue, Max 9 :P Annoying but workable!
