Does it exist? I just got 2010 and I can't find a way to get Texporter going on it.

I love this question :) It pops up from time to time here.

Texporter was merged into max back in like version 7 or something. In the UV editor window, go to tools>render UVW template.

In the Edit UVW's window go, Tools > Render UVW Template
They included it in Max8 or was it in Max9?

Fill: R 0, G 255, B 0
Edge/Edge Seam: R 255, G 0, B 255

If you use these settings, you can use this photoshop action to separate the wires and solid chunks to their own layers. Or you can record your own action just as easily using color select. I bound it F12 so I open the tga template, hit F12 and away I go.

After you change the settings (in render UV template) make sure to go Options > Save Current Settings as Default that way the colors stay the same the next time you apply UnwrapUVW.

Wow, good call haha. Sorry, I just jumped from v7 to 2010 so I had no idea. It did seem strange that I couldn't find a download for it anywhere on the entire interweb. Thanks a ton!

There actually is a texporter for Max 2010, however it is in beta still:

Thanks for posting this thread! I am new to 3DS MAX and someone was telling me about texporter to get a "flat" wire frame.

I know this is an old post, but thnx!! I finally installed 2010 :)

I still think Texporter is better than the build in one.
