I have been using Zbrush for making normal maps (for clothes folds etc.) and here is my first attempt at sculpting from scratch. I started with Zpheres and followed a tutorial by 3D total (http://shop.3dtotal.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_67&products_id=282&osCsid=9pfl7fvmm72cg4ufue8ecjhjk3). It's really good that one.

I'm trying to make it look different, but hey, this is just practice! And fun!

It's wip: eyelids, mouth, details still to follow. Am I on the right track?

Well with a creature it's hard to say, but I'd shape the head around the top a bit more like a human. Looks good though.

I'm following a tutorial, so I guess it's gonna look pretty much like the 3d total birdman creature (http://shop.3dtotal.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_67&products_id=282&osCsid=9pfl7fvmm72cg4ufue8ecjhjk3)

Copying is learning, I guess... ;)

It kind of looks like a very buff Foot-Soldier.

The progress so far... The skin needs a lot of work: have to get that texture in there. Especially around the torso. Feedback would be appreciated... does he look believable?

Definitely looks a lot better. Hard to tell facial structure from a straight on view.
