Hey guys, I just wanted to give a heads up on a DVD that we are working on. Its been a long time in the making and will prove to be one of our best DVDs. Its rare that people get to see the hard work put in the DVD Cover so I decided to post it so everyone can check it out.

If I can offer one suggestion though, slow down! Your other video's are fine, but you really flew through the material in the the fountain DVD. You had a lot to cover in that time though, so I understand.

Yeah we ship worldwide. I was surprised to find out most of our orders are outside the USA, I guess it makes sense cause we are an internet business.

Well, that's sad to hear about "Rods situation", but tbh I agree with Dekard. Regardless of what happened, eat3d can't be expected to be responsible for ones personal life, and I'm sure everyone understands that.

Some time back, by the same instructor, and they were by far the most informative and useful anatomy dvds I have ever come across.
Personally, I'm going to buy this dvd the day it comes out. Keep up the good work Riki and the Eat3d team!

Thanks guys, The main thing is we had to invest a lot of money and time into this dvd, and its was scheduled to be released in less than 2 weeks. So anything negative that points to the dvd itself is very hard on eat3d. One idea is to remove his name from it completely, but I dont know. At the very least it will need to be pushed back I guess.

it taints eat3d in a way. the main visible effect is our resellers and other marketing people see this as something they dont want to promote. Which is a huge deal. :/

Saw those videos of him teching and explaining and they look really well made. Really well explaining what are the most popular mistakes new artists do, how to look, see in creating human body. Usually everyone just sculpts while in background talking abaut all the latin names for bones and muscles. Would hate to lose a chance to learn this stuff.
His voice would remind of what he has done, but mostly I somehow associate that accent to hobbits so that wouldn't be a problem. :D

Also I think there should have been some better judgement in place here. The guy is, and let me speak openly here for a second (very unlike me I know), commonly known as one of the biggest nut cases online and has been banned from several forums (including polycount AFAIK). So, it's not like this thing should come as a total surprise to eat3d management.

I think this is one of those rare cases where the free publicity easily trumps the "appaled" customers who wont buy the dvd. Just think about the user base of these dvd's. Half of 'em probably posted in that furries in WOW thread we had on here not long ago.

Other than that I didnn't feel complelled to not purchase this video because of an artists background... It's still valuable information to check out which shouldn't affect the sales or Eat3D since they are only trying to promote artists who wish to take the time out to make these video tutorials in the first place.

Who knows why he did it, I for one don't really care but it does raise some questions when you start thinking at it from a humane point of view, but then again you all know everyone's watching someone at some time... In all seriousness though. This shouldn't reflect Eat3d and the amazing products Rikis team keeps pumping out. Knowledge is knowledge. If I could learn how to be the most amazing character modeler from Charles Manson then I'd be hanging out with that dude and gaining his knowledge and skills.

Its hard to post about this on an openly public forum because of all the legalities and whatnot. What it boils down to at the moment is we cant move forward with the situation as it stands. In the media it states Rod clearly said he uses the camera for sculpting reference and stored image/video on his hard drive. You can see how that directly ties into the video itself, we could get sued from 7 different angles if there was even a shred of proof the mermaid in the sculpt had anything to do with the illegal reference. So in light of all that the video is dead as a duck, and personally I'm just going to count it as a loss and move on with my life. If good news opens up about all this and its possible to release it, Ill let you guys know first. I'm in talks with lawyers also, btw.

I seriously appreciate everyones support in this tough situation. In case you didn't notice this is the only site where this thread still exists. So Id rather just let it die out for now because the news is so negative that it only hurts our situation.
