I heard through the grapevine that the new Sims game was leaked early, I'm thinking it must have been a disgruntled EA worker.
This cant be good Will Wright must be pissed! I thought they had this game locked down tighter than Fort Knox.
Do you think this will majorly effect the sales once its officially launched?

It probably leaked on the kitchen floor, while unsure as to why it was crying.

effecting sales lol

Yeah, it won't affect the sales at all. Look at the Sims 2 right now, it's still selling like crack despite being pirated by thousands. As well as being leaked.

plus, take into consideration the age group the game is for. usually younger people, not 35 year old net geeks who download torrents and stuff. the average sims player wouldnt know how to turn off user account controls in windows vista let alone find a safe version of a leaked game and get it to run properly.

my wife don't care about the leaks...She has every sims game and expansion since the first one. She is an addict. Crazy...
I was just sitting in the woods today, and noticed my shoes were were covered in ants. My mind was on game design, as usual, so I started to think a new SimAnt would be cool. What's so fascinating about humans, anyway? Insects are where it's at.
Sim ant was the bomb!
I spent many a school holiday on that game :|

simant rocked. i recently found my simant for pc in some moving boxes. gave it a spin, still fun.
i think if they did some updated art.. maybe 3d with the original mechanics and a bit more advancement the game could sell good on steam or xbla for like 10-15 bucks.

I remember renting simant when I was young and couldn't figure out what the hell I was suppose to do. Suppose it would be interesting to see if I could now :P

I remember renting simant when I was young and couldn't figure out what the hell I was suppose to do. Suppose it would be interesting to see if I could now :PIt's awesome. You play as the black ants and wage war against the red ants.
You do this in a backyard that is divided into regions, and you have to take over every region, and then the house. You do this by sending a new queen there and starting a new hill. Then you lead all your ants into the red ant's hill and slaughter them all!

I have never played a Sims game in my life...but I can't argue with the numbers. Still, is a third really needed? Considering the others got at least 3 expansion packs?

3 expansion packs? lol Try like 8 i think is what the number is up to for the Sims 2 series. It's insane.
They are releasing another because the graphics are improved and with newer tech they can open up more possibilities for the game.
Plus if it's such a cash cow redoing the franchise every 5 years or so can be a good and needed thing.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a leak of a DNF build.

You'd probably first need a game to leak...

I wouldn't play this game even if EA paid me to, much less spend bandwidth to download it and clog my hd up with it. Blearghhh.

horrray! I still have fun torture experiment save games :) the game is much more fun when you make them crazy people
building walls around a husband while the wife was outside going crazy! then building walls around her! A friend of mine in college would punish her Married sims (who had children) when they peed on the floor by building walls around their children. lol... if only the sims had psyche levels in the game, she would have driven them insane.
or having a bbq inside! then lighting off fireworks inside! They sadly killed two of their friends though, then went on a blood-thirsty rampage with the fireworks killing three more, and a clown.
made another house that was an extremely militant lesbian sex trafficker. She'd befriend all the wives, and eventually ask them to move in with her and leave their husbands. She wore a yellow jumpsuit, and beat up men.

moose I did the same kind of shit. Locking people in rooms with no doors or taking the ladder out of the pool so people would drown. Ahh good times...Or lighting the house on fire and removing doors so the whole place burns everyone alive.
Oh man psyche levels would rock!
I also did the lesbian frat house. My wife said I was fucked up.

I would say anything like that for Sims 3 would be released as DLC this time round, but with a DVD retail release too, as I would say a large part of their audience aren't nerds who know about DLC and how to get it :) Its that kind of game, like Nintendogs I guess.
Which is where the real money is at unfortunately...

Man the sims games have tons of home made content, editors, fan made expansions and add ons. It's insane. It has a huge following. They know about DLC and I can guaruntee there will be dvds in retail locations for expansions for Sims 3.
EA has always doen dlc on their site too with updates and free objects. It's a huge thing.

lol I think its fairly obvious I am a huge fan of the franchise :D
Wasn't "Lesbian Frat House" actually one of the official expansions for The Sims 2?
Dark your avatar is badass and I'm slightly jealous you thought of it first :P

What about the sims online, is that still around?
I remember when I use to play motor city online(which was the best car game ever imo!) they shut it down and gave the remaining user base a free copy of the sims online or some other game. I tried the sims and was hit on by some dude in the first 15 minutes of playing and didn't touch the game again haha.

Dark your avatar is badass and I'm slightly jealous you thought of it first :PI guess that makes it modern art. You could have done it, but you didn't. :P
It's actually your avatar to begin with.

Aye. The lack of brown and grey offends my delicate sensibilities.
Man this is going to be good...
