My character is a Warlord with some magical abilities. Here is a fast concept drawing, just a few lines to visualize my idea.

Im happy with the overall look of this character. I will detail that concept in my free time.
Im creating base model now.

Draft Base here:
Fast Zbrush Sculpting and after that Retopology.

Hi Gabriel, good luck this year! Your basemesh is looking pretty damn good, but I think you zbrush sculpting is mushing up your mechanical bits. it looks good on the leather, but the shoulderpads look especially mushy. I think you should smooth a bit, and use the flatten brush and pinch brush to drive those edges to a tighter and cleaner finish.

Good start so far. I think you need to do something unique with the head though to make it not just another guy in badass heavy armor. Keep up the great work.

Drywall. Thanks for advices. it is very fast job in zbrush . I will fix it now :)
04-06-2009, 11:44 AM
yea, the head is going to make or break this one, but I think you have a strong base to work off of.
I really like the level of detail in the upper chest and those accordion tubes are always cool.
the rings detail on his left shoulder really makes that side pop. it's an interesting bit of 'old' in the new.
you might think of some sort of prop for him (her?) to pose with

Almost finished midres parts of arms and thigh parts.

its time to sculpt this in zbrush a little. Do you like it?
04-24-2009, 09:01 AM
looks pretty effin' solid to me!
04-24-2009, 11:12 AM
damn solid modelling, really strong skills, man!
crit: those chains and big shoulder pad- weakest parts of that piece, i would try to make it in another way, u know.
04-25-2009, 04:26 PM
r4ptur3: Thank you:)
Conte: Maybe with some more time I could do something about it but it's kinda late and at this stage difficoult to make major adjustments:(:(
and now little zbrush:

Cool Gabriel keep up!
04-25-2009, 04:50 PM
Woah Very very nice dude.
04-25-2009, 04:53 PM
Dude, your character will be a kill if it is well textured.
I mean, there is so much interesting materials on it you could
play with (At least steel, rubber, plastic, leather and skin).
Really really great work on the sculpt!
04-25-2009, 05:33 PM
it was looking really solid before the zbrush pass, but now you've thrown in some extra details and prob more to come it's gonna be crazy :d
04-26-2009, 07:54 AM
im glad that you like it:):)
04-26-2009, 09:04 AM
quality stuff, i dig it!

04-26-2009, 02:47 PM
Lots of fun for the eye to look at. I dig the corroded/damaged metal.
04-26-2009, 06:52 PM
Those are some wicked mits (gloves) you got there!
Additionally, I like the extra love you gave to your hard-surface in zbursh.
I think you could make the fabric lines a bit more crisp and "readable" but thats just minor nitpicking. Other it looks really slick!

Thanks for comments!!:)
almost final model i hope:

The hat you gave him is a bull's-eye. He is a privet but in the same time very original and awesome. Can't wait to see hem textured with all the green and shiny things from the concept of yours.
05-01-2009, 12:16 PM
lowres done:) ufffffff
Nice work Gabriel, cant wait to see how the normals turn out on this bad boy.
05-01-2009, 12:58 PM
no weapon included in that 10k? Looks amazing though! great job!
05-03-2009, 03:41 AM
nrek: Here they are:) finally... 9800 tris. remaining 200 i will take for some effects like smoke and liquid for that guy.
WarNoodle: the gloves are his weapon. the right one is armed for final kill shot:)
05-03-2009, 03:47 AM
Damn good work! I can't wait to see this with some color :)
The cloth sculpt around his chest could probably have been a little bit more refined, but it's not too bad.
My main crit right now would be his legs have a very plain silhouette, I might try to quickly push his kneepads out a bit more to break up that very "soft" curve he has in the lower leg.

This guy is a bad ass. I love the moustache and this gentle steam punk feeling in him.
