So I signed up due to group pressure to this contest. I'm currently sketching for a Norm Invoker with some voodoo/shaman theme. The plan is keep a lower profile in the race for the most crazy design and attempt to shine in production quality of the actual model.
At the moment the concept is a bit too cluttered, and something seems to be missing. However it shows where I'm heading with this character. I'm quite happy with the face, choice of weapon and magic. Clothing, tatoos/scarifications need more work though, still trying to find the balance between sexy and scary.
I have some new ideas already and will hopefully have some time tonight to add them.

Thanks! I've been thinking of pets (ravens, monkey with a death mask) and steeds (white tiger, panther, etc). If anything the monkey seems most fun to do at the moment.
Quite small update. Been playing around with colors and made the head look less like the statue of liberty. Clothing is not still finished and decided upon, although I like the red better. Going to try to have some more flowing peices of cloth as well.

AimBiz - I don't think you know me, yet :)
I like elements in all staffs, I'll probably go with something close to 1 or 3, but elements from the other ones will make it in there.

murder ape! i like the style alot, the monkeys mask is very cool, not what i was thinking when i first read this. i think it would be a good touch to add some of that bright orange she is wearing into the monkeys gear, might seem a bit random if they dont have something to tie them together.

Last concept before modelling, pretty sure what I want out of the model and since it's my own concept (and I'm not a concept artist by any means) I feel that I have explored enough elements and solutions to handle anything that comes up wrong.
Regarding the monkey, not sure if he'll make it in, depends a lot on the polycount/texture space of my mockup. The girl is the main focus, if there is space left for the monkey without making him intrusive he'll get some more love. Thanks for the suggestion Woog, I'll definately try to do something that connects them more.

So, I've created a basemesh and started sculpting during the weekend. Lots of things to polish, but I'm quite happy with the general proportions. I'm struggling a bit with the female anatomy, too much male modelling in the projects I've been involved in this far so I'm glad that I have a project so I can broaden my understanding of the human anatomy in a direction that is more pleasing to work with :D

cool character, i like the monkey too :D
zbrush sculpt looks like a good start... the feet and knee detail is nice!
i think you should make her thighs a little fatter and smoother, especially around the side where it curves around towards the buttocks - the front 3/4 view at the moment is looking quite flat and lumpy now, it should be smoother like the buttocks are in the rear 3/4 view!
keep it up!

As you can see, I haven't posted in ages, because I haven't done anything in ages. Work and other stuff have been taking too much of my time, and catching up with you guys will be nearly impossible. But I'm stubborn, and I've made a tough schedule to finnish her on time. I hope to hold it and that I wont have to kill too many of my darlings doing so, so now I'll start iterating the highpoly, here is the first update:

Blocking out clothes and accessories, step 1.
http://www.albihn.net/upload/DW4/body_02.jpg
I like the torso so far going to put some more bones around the shoulders and some necklaces otherwise I think the amount of detail is nice and seems to work well. the hip area is somewhat off, legs might be made even longer and slender, feets and hands are still a mess. Might need to adjust position of the head slightly as well.
Cant wait to tear up some of the cloth to make a more interesting silhouette. Also looking forward to making the dreads for real, it will be crazy since I'm going to put rings, bones, metal parts, leather and other things all over it. Also been thinking of making some sort of spider shaped crown on her forehead.
Making the belt of shrunken heads will be fun too. I really love the concept, she has to be finished.
Feedback appreciated.

Morte - Thank you. And yes, I'm still blocking out even if I do get carried away at checking how some details will look. She will need several polish passes, question is how many I will have time for now...
Ged, AimBiz - Thanks guys.
