I thought i would make a thread to just say hello and let everyone know a little bit about myself. I started working in 3d about 5 years ago during my freshmen year in highschool, when i took CAD and Drafting classes. I took classes for it throughout the rest of highschool, around my 2-3 year of these classes i fell into a program called blender. I strated modeling and doing some pretty crappy stuff but the learning curve kinda drew me away. At the begining of my 4th year the classroom was upgraded and we got many new programs to play with, one of them being maya. I used it a little but never really got the hang of it. now, being out of highschool i use maya everyday. Just for fun pretty much. I would hope to someday make a carrer out of it and im trying to get into art school at the moment for media arts and animation, at the art institute. I really hope i can make it, and do well. I guess ill show some of the stuff ive done with the help of digital tutors and some messing around. I have just very recently gotten into lowpoly, so not much of it but i am working on something right now and i need a little help. Heres a pic of it. What i need to know is how to make the water simi-transparent using the shaders. Im using the realtime maya cgfx shaders i found on the forums, very nice work by the way. If anyone could help that would be great, below that is just some other stuff ive done.

wow I think that's the longest run on sentence Ive ever seen....

Your animations are decent, I would just recommend not showing unfinished work if your trying to show off. And please learn the importance of grammar...

yea, sorry about the grammar. That never really was my strong point. Not trying to show off at all, i have very little to show for as is. Just hoping to learn a thing or two from the community here and better my work as time passes.

grammar is a must because if you want to be seen as a professional capable of coherent thought instead of one big sentence that you think of as you go then perhaps you should use some grammar you have nice animations

I can really see that after reading your sentence. Although i was able to break it up in my head while reading it, it makes it a lot easier when grammar is correct.
