Nah, it's called a booth crawl cuz it's named after a pub crawl.

A Pub Crawl is where you and your friends start out a 1 pub, drink a bit, then walk down the street to the next. After the first few. . . you're crawling between pubs because you're so wasted.

The Booth Crawl is very similar, but with less cars, which makes it nice.

It's only another block away or so. Reservation is for 6:30, for 30 people. The guy was totally cool with having that many people up and talking and drinking. So we're good.

He did say that we'll be split up into 2 tables of 15, and if we don't have the majority of people there at 6:30, he'll seat those we do, but he'll have to split off the room we aren't using for other customers.

So. Be there at 6:30 if you can, and if you're late, you probably won't have a spot. After that, we can wander off to a bar nearby to continue the drunken escapades.

If you don't know how to get over to the place, or just want to hang out with me because of my cool fez, feel free to meet me there.

I will be going over to CA Pizza Kitchen at 6:15, to make sure we get our spot.

If you arrive at the North Hall after 6:15, and don't see the fez, then you're on your own. I'm sure you can make it, it's like, 2 blocks away, and only around 1 corner.

Again, the reservations are for 35 people (called and updated today) at 6:30 PM, on Thursday March 26th, 2009. You can show up late, but we may not have a chair for you, as the restaurant will want to reclaim any unused space, so they can make more $$$.

I have sessions planned for most of the day tomorrow, but any down time will likely be spent at the Dom War Booth. I met a few of you there today and that was cool.

ETA: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring cash! I know we're going to get done with dinner and have 40,000 credit cards, and it's going to be a pain in the ass. If you can get cash sometime during the day, it would be very helpful I'm sure.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say. . . HOLY FUCK!

For those of you who didn't show, thank GOD you didn't.

I started this thing expecting to get 10-15 people. I made a reservation for 15. That quickly ballooned to 25, at which point we had to switch restaurants. It then ballooned to 35. The final reservation was for 35, at CPK.

Tonight, I lost count at 55, and I think we had AT LEAST 10 more people show up after that.

The CPK staff, while annoyed with us, worked very well to accommodate us anyway, and overall were very cool for doing so.

I know we had a little bill discrepancy at one of the tables (we ended up with 2 inside, and took over their whole patio outside), but overall the bills worked out pretty well, amazing for 60+ people.

Anyway, Thanks to all those who showed up, and hung out for a bit. Sorry it was kind of scattered, and I didn't get a chance to talk to many of you. Anyway, at least you probably know what I look like now, though maybe that's not a good thing. . .?

It was really nice to finally put some faces and personalities to all the names I see and hear from on a daily basis. Especially so to Tumer, Valias, killingpeople, pior, RobG, Bobo, josh and ~austin as we've been on this forum together now for a number of years. It's a shame most of us had party plans afterwards as I would have liked to continue the how-do-ya-do's elsewhere. Luckily for me ~austin was thirsty so we were able to do some catching up other fun chatter.

Welp! I'm toast and need sleep. Thanks again to everyone who went. As I said it was really really nice to see that many people come together for the black & green.

Thanks again for putting all this together. It was rather spread out and we didn't all get to talk quite as much as I hoped we might. Thought there would be more get up-and-talk time. I think meeting up was the best part of GDC for me. I was awesome finally putting faces and personalities to the names. Plus to be honest, it was really awesome finally meeting some of the people who i consider to be the most talented in the Industry.

We should maybe take the photo and add our names on them, so we can know who's who (I'm the guy behind bobo)

I had a great time! In a lot of ways it was a GDC i've wanted for years. Usually i just meet a couple of (new) people and this year was far from that. It was great to meet people i've wanted to see for a long (really long) time. I wished i had more time to hang out and go around SF and all that. Sadly i didn't get to get in on the like 15/20 minute sculpt stuff. That would have kicked ass but i had things i had to go see and work etc.... But it was awesome to see it going down and also watch everybody doing their thing at the booth was great.

Tumorboy: Dude sorry! my last post was supposed to be a confirm on the Thursday night thing and when i said "try" i was mostly talking about the Booth Crawl and if something drastic came up. So really i meant a Yes..... i will be more firm about that in the future. Sorry about the confusion. I left for GDC early and never checked the forums (woops) and didn't realize i wasn't confirmed for it until i got back (last night) .... even though i thought i was the whole time.
BTW Thanks man for it all. Sucks about the group picture. that blows. But taking care of things was appreciated.


The pictures are awesome. I need to get a small/nice camera. Josh's pics came out really nice and i remember he had a nice portable one. The only camera i have is big an annoying to carry around.
