View Full Version : OMG GTA CHINATOWN WARS! Trailers are released

There's finally trailers out for the game, spent a nice chunk of my life on this game, sadly I did not see the development through to the end. Just chuffed as hell that it's finally about to be released and looking the mutt's nuts :)
And from what I've seen in the gameplay trailer, there are a fair few bits in there that I worked on but there is a chance other artists may have touched the assets after I'd left.
Got to admit though, I'm feeling happy and sad at the same time seeing it as I'm proud of what I'd done but at the same time sad because I never saw it through to the end due to moving back nearer to my family.

Just wanna say congrats to all the gang at R* Leeds and hope it goes on to create a new benchmark on what can be done with a Nintendo DS :thumbup:

Congrats to you, Chunkey and to all the other Polycount Rockstar Leeds crew that worked on this game. It looks really nice and reminds me a lot of the first GTA game.

Only thing I notice is that the hotwiring might get annoying if you have to do that very often. But I am definitely getting this on release! :)
Yes! It looks like GTA 1 and 2 with updated 3D shennanigans!
Damn! This makes me feel good to see as it reminds me of GTA I & II! Hopefully it plays well on the tiny DS screens otherwise Adam's gonna hafta slap a bitch!

I hope not. I had a Hare Krishna girl telling me how horrible video games were and how I should seek some less spiritually destructive employment because of that whole Gouranga business. I suspect Rockstar probably copped a lot of flack for it.

instead of trying to cobble together some half baked gta game on the ds that is meant to look like the new gta, they create an entirely new game with gameplay cues to the original.

wow for the 1st time since it was announced ive only just now seen what its like, I was expecting a 2d sprite based game and was expecting something lame but that looks dope, really cool seeing the 3d stuff being done well on the DS.

I can't say "This far" im impressed, but its one of those games that I really will have to play. Some of the mini games are just insane, but insane in a GOOD way lol.
Defo a Try before I buy type of game, but I want to love it :D

I haven't played my DS in ages, and I'm really looking forward to this after just finishing The Lost and The Damned.

Looks gorgeous for a DS game. Think it's due out 20th March.

WTF? Is that it? Looks nothing like the game I saw when i last looked, it was all sprite based and looked worse than GTA1!

Wow that looks amazing, just watched the trailers and I can't wait for this to come out.
DS still has a lot of life left in it :) Seems like a technical marvel as to how good it looks and runs in the trailer lol.

Got it, playing it, so far I like it BUT the controls are far more static than GTA4 so my brain is taking some time settling on the new scheme.

This game is indeed like pure crack... I haven't stopped playing it in all the little brief moments I get of free time. So much is jus awesome and I smile every time I grab my stylus while playing.

OK, how do I get the GPS to display on the top screen like in Kotaku's review?
its in the options ... top-screen gps markers or something like that

saw someone playing it at ebgames, took the game for a demo. Its really slick! Definite must buy for DS!
