Well I've been contemplating it for a bit and decided I'd start a digital sketchbook where I can show the stuff that doesn't usually get to the WAYWO thread. I appreciate feedback on every and all things and for the most part it empowers me to grow and learn.
Without further ado here are a couple speed sculpts I did last night and this morning.

Thanks G
Here's what I think I'm gonna go with for my DW4 Mini-comp character. Hoping it bakes well enough. He has shoulder pads and some medals to go along with his hoity-toity cigar.

I feel like you'd be good at designing architecture. Don't know why.

Thanks man, I do enjoy architecture and design although I don't actually design architecture. Maybe some day...

Using an old octopus mesh I made for last year's DW3 I just played around with some techniques and shapes. Mostly just me unwinding. I'm also thinking I might start playing with making my own Matcaps in Zbrush as of yet I haven't found a great sculpting material. I like the green because of the dark accents in creases but I'd prefer it in a more neutral colour. We'll see what I come up with and I'll post any decent ones.

Well I did a bit of experimenting with MatCaps to try to make some materials that would work well for general detail sculpting. Here's what I came up with, my favorite so far is Mr Frosty.

Practicing some expressions with a base head mesh I resurrected this afternoon. The last one on the right kinda says "Did you just fart?" to me.

These are great (I especially love the fish). What is your process generally like when you're working on the sculpts? Do you use mostly standard, smooth, and clay or have a different working method? I've only recently gotten started with Zbrush and I'm trying to figure out the best work flow.
Keep up the sculpts and the posts - they're very inspirational. Thanks.

Hey thanks redgryph.
All those fish sculpts I started with the polysphere ztool because I knew there were just going to be for fun and if I ever wanted to take them further I could just retopologize them. I start using the move tool to bulk out my shape then use the clay tubes to rough out the shapes and get the curves I want. Then it's a combination of :DamianStandard brush, standard, pinch, flatten, smooth, inflate. Pretty much whatever I need to get the look I want. Just try all the tools with different settings to see what they can do. I really recommend finding the Damian Standard brush, should be pretty easy with google. It's a combination of standard and pinch and it's great for creasing and creating nice crisp organic edges.
I'm working on some more model insertion paintings and I'll post them when I get finished. Planning on getting a set of postcards printed when I get a set done :)
Cheers.

Alright well I complete my series of Rockwell Redos and will be making postcards of them to send to employers and stuff. Here's the lot again with the touch-ups I've made. Had fun making these and might do something like this again when I get a new batch of character.
