I’m currently in talks to nail down a new book deal and this one is going to be about environment art for games. It’s going to have a full-color gallery in it and I have to get artwork from folks interested in contributing. If any of you have any environment art (which includes props, buildings, levels, etc etc) from your portfolio that is also safe to show publicly AND you’d like to see your work in print, please let me know!

Hey, I own one of your books! :P
Sorry but I don't really have much to share at the moment. I'm sure you'll get enough though.
Hey Mike, sounds cool, I wish I had some decent environment art to show, I think most of it is either under NDA or rubbish and old unfortunately :)
It was cool to get my Tarsier model into your animation book though. Good luck with the new book deal, hopefully it will get finished and be of use to some Polycounters :)

Hey Mike, congrats on another book. I have your Game Artist's Guide to Maya book. Helped me get my first freelance gig earlier in my career :)

Wow, cool, I'm glad you guys enjoyed my previous titles. :) I really think this next one will be the best yet! Thanks for reminding me about the Unearthly Challenge, I'll definitely be hitting some of those guys up! I'm accepting submissions for consideration until the summer, so feel free to let your friends know if interested!
Oh yeah, everyone who gets work in the book will also receive a free copy, courtesy of yours truly.

I wanted to update everyone: the book has been greenlit and will be moving into development next month, so if anyone else is interested in contributing, let me know!

Work has begun!
Thanks for all those who have submitted so far. I'm still accepting submissions all the way throughout the next few months, so feel free to tell your friends.
Do you look for individual images to be submitted? Portfolios that you choose the artwork from? What, if anything, do those who have their artwork in your book receive for contributing?

and do you want any low poly stuff? :)
Sent a PM, not sure if you have those flagged to mail you when new one comes in.

Thanks for the PMs!
I definitely want low-poly stuff, as the game is game art based. High-poly is cool too though.
I wish I could say that everyone who gets a piece of art displayed in the book receives cash money or something equally nice, but all I really can offer is to credit you thoroughly (name, website, etc etc). I'm mainly looking for individual images that you would like to see in print, but if you'd rather just link me to your portfolio and have me take a gander, that works too, but may take longer for me to get back to you, just due to my hectic schedule of working full-time in addition to writing this sucker!

Ok, last call for submissions! My deadline for this is this weekend. Thanks to all who have submitted already! I'm starting to get it all compiled and ready for printing now. I'll let you know how it goes!
Looking forward to this book, just hope it's a little more advanced than all the beginners books out there.

You looking for full environments? I wish I saw this earlier, would've loved to get something in. If you wouldn't mind a car, and there's still time, I could offer something like this: http://www.laurenscorijn.com/portfolio/cougar-ss ?

It is a Maya book, yes.
Thanks again for everyone's interest in providing art for the book! The book is currently finished and should be coming out March 1st. I'll be sending copies to everyone who submitted (assuming I can get your address!)
As for my site... yeah, it's been a hassle. My host apparantly got hacked. I'm considering new hosts for my site if my current one can't handle it.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

LOL should have read this before I clicked you're sig. link. Avast went nuts and FF gave me the big middle finger. Anyway, the book looks great, I'll have to pick up a copy (I use Max, but you can learn new things from any book :) ).

Awesome, I gotta get my hands on that book. I didn't realize this post was so old and was almost about to submit one of my environment pieces for consideration, but no worries.
Looks sweet!

Nice. Ordered it on amazon and managed to get it at a price that even with overnight, Saturday shipping still cost less than if I paid cover price + tax at Barnes and Noble down the road.

just got my copy today too.. kind of disappointed but I guess it's because it's more of a beginner book. Congrats though!! I'm sure I'll learn something in there.. Seems you are a big fan of the boolean. :D
Anyhow, grats, also to Adam, Bram, Jeff Parrot, tom poon, paul presley

Yeah, it is more of a beginner book. My apologies if that wasn't clear from the book's description.
