View Full Version : Sketchbook: EmAr
As I want to post more and more of these, I thought it would be convenient to make a sketchbook thread. Here's my sculpture stuff:

I really dig the creatures - those zbrush scuplts and concepts. They've got a really believable feel to them. They're a little odd, but creatures ARE odd. We're digging up fossils all the time, or discovering things in the ocean that are incredibly interesting, shapes, sizes, functionalities. And you're getting a good feel for that in your creatures, it makes them really believable.
Keep going mate, I'd love to see more.
Thanks Two Listen, I'll definitely add more stuff as I sketch :)
Some silhouettes and a karate raptor:

Some of them look a bit stiff, but the bottom right two. Those should be developed more. And that crab thing.
Thanks Gallows, I just got ZBrush 3.5R3 and played with the new trim brush, it's so much fun :D

Great stuff coming along here. Keep up the work and keep that reference, inspiration, and patience close to heart. I'd love to see more of the traditional head bust sculpts taken further!
Thank you Tumz :)

This is not done yet but the progress is enough to show my mistakes I guess :)

I started this head today:

This time I modeled a base mesh in Silo instead of starting with a sphere in ZBrush and retopologizing. I can upload the basemesh if anyone thinks it could be useful for them :)
new basemesh, new head, hopefully somewhat better:

Here's my 2 cents; keep up working on those humans and study alot more anatomy. I cant't see any use in making all those random sculpts as they all lack the same thing, the feel of muscle/flesh underneath the skin.
Good luck
You're right AimBiZ, I'll work on my anatomy skills next. Here's a sniper scope for now though :) Saw this one in this thread:

Read some anatomy stuff and sketched a little today. Probably I'll do the same thing tomorrow :)

I learned that ZBrush could crash and lose your work too :(
