Check this out. A team at the University of Washington has a project to auto-magically enhance videos using still photographs of the scene. It's really cool stuff ;)

Wow... that is some really sweet stuff! :O Amazing what they can do with it... it would be even more amazing to see what else it can be used for!

This was emailed around work yesterday. Very neat stuff. There's a lot of potential for gaming studios as well as indy film makers. Will be nice to see how it progresses.

The potential for indi film makers seems endless!
And they provide the source code too, thus someone could reimplement it in a open-source programm.

Wow, that's incredible. I can imagine these types of technology really increasing the quality of indie films, or decreasing costs on major motion pictures. Very cool.

One major catch: it only works on static scenes :(

I see a whole new era of video not being submitable as court evidence ;)

This is truely amazing stuff.

This is ace, would be really handy for indie fim makers as already stated (I'm a copy cat). But the whole time I was watching the vid, I was thinking... Only if I had this sort of stuff while I was making films years back.

Thanks for the share, Ryan.
