Looks great!
A little more detail on the sharp end of the blade and start on the low poly!

Great job :)

Heres another attempt. The handle detail was thrown in for sake of this pic. Im having a hard time getting this to look good. ;/

It looks nice, tho I would break it up a bit by adding a leather wrap for grip :poly002:

I think the problem with the 2nd one is due to the clash of the wispy style on the head of the ax and the short, jagged patterns on the handle... try swapping handles, i think the styles fit each other better. The simplicity of the first handle is just excellent. I second giving the leather wrapped grip a try. That 2nd handle would make a sweet scepter, but I just don't see battle axes being quite as ornate, they're a bit too brutal looking :) Also, apply that sweet specular shader to the 2nd model, it might ring out a bit cooler with all them highlights. Did you start with a base mesh? Nice job!

Question. Are you zooming in using Zoom, or Scale? Since if you Zoom you're just blowing up the pixels, so you get all these awful jagged edges in your screenshots.

Nice work, I love me some battle axes. But I was wondering how you are doing the details. Are you just masking out the shapes?

Ok redid the ornaments on blade. Thanks for replys. Yeah just used masks for the detail. Heres an update!

Qustion: With or without the inner blade peice?

i like it without.... also you might want to maybe put a nice ruby or two in it... to add some color.

My vote goes to without the inner piece.
I like the new design, looks so much cleaner than the older one.

Symmetry is broken on the handle so is hard to do leather wraps. So ready to be done with this..
