Know it's been awhile since i posted really anywhere on the site, been busy with an internship as of late. But This is something I was working on in my spare time for a contest over at NurbsAndPolys.com, contest ended a couple of days ago. But I didn't finish, So now just working on it for myself. Based on Harryhausens Ymir. C&C always welcome.

been awhile since i posted any of my work so here's something new that im working on. Its a mailbox, the concept art was found, either here or elsewhere, can't remember where, if anyone knows that would be awesome to get the info so i can credit if i put on website. C&C always welcome. This is just the flat diffuse in maya, gonna take into UE3 tomorrow, i think, to start work on the spec. Normals are done just not applied right now.

the last piece really blows the other ones away (in my opinion), nice progress! I would suggest adding some more details to your zbrush sculpts - maybe some pores and wrinkles if your doing organic stuff. I started using the noise modifier in zbrush and can't understand how I got along without it :) Maybe it's my screen but the mail box looks realy dark to me, looking forward to seeing it lit in UT. Good luck with that!

thanks Deus, yeah i haven't tried out the new zbrush yet but hope to shortly, some of the new features seem pretty bad ass. Here is the update for the mail box again would love some c&c because i plane on putting it up on my website tomorrow. Thanks

again if anyone knows the artist that did the concept art that would be awesome to get the info. probably gonna reduce polys on the skull, got lazy with it and just use decimation master.

hi sub_roland!
I pretty much like the style of your sculpitngs, but as Ged already said, watch out for anatomy in the heads. I guess if the anatomy is correct they would kick ass! So check that and give us a new one ;)
Cheers.
Poly.

Ged-thanks for looking at my crap. i have not been having an refernce up for the most part, some time ill pull up an image of one particular thing, so i can see why it would be all over the place. i was going to start reading loomis' drawing heads in the next day or two

*edit*added* PolygonJunkD- hey thanks, i agree with you both i really need to get that stuff down, hopefully sooner then later 8)

started this creature wanted to give the zsketch stuff a go, need a bit more practice with it, but you can definitely get some base meshes out fast with it

some really interesting sculpting and stylizing going on here.
i especially like this latest one.
i think some of the proportions in the earlier ones were being put too far out of proportion, and in my mind, that was hurting the style more than adding to it.

As always a long time between my posts, Here's a few hours sculpt that I was working on, Started from zspheres and zsketch, Started resurfacing in zbrush was almost done and it crashed while I was saving, (not to self remember to incrementally save) so I'm probably gonna ditch this guy and start something new. We shall find out today, gonna see what kind of a result i can get with unified skin
