Could someone help with the md3 tags. I have max 4 no character studio and every page i find about this points to a polycount page that says it will be back up in a few days but its said that for about 2 months. so if somecould tell me how to make the tags not import them cause as far as i know there is no importer for max 4

ok i got the tags figuered out but my model shows up invisible i'm sure there just some small mistake i'm making somewhere but i would really apperciate any help any one could give me,

Yes, you need to make sure that the model was skinned, and that you have the textures in the proper folders, and that max references them correctly, in those folders.
And for tags, just make a tri, with no textures or UV's and name it tag_, your exporter (most likely by TiCal) will ignore it as a mesh, and it should work.
About your invisibility issue..I can't remember specifically about Quake3/MD3 exporters for max but some engines do not like exporting "editable poly" as a skinned mesh. What I am getting to is some engines will export a file that is a proper filesize but the data simply won't render.
- Some proprietary exporters need an "editable mesh".
Are you working on a mod or is this for something else ?
