Noticed i didn't have a sketchbook yet so here it is, nothing special to show just models i have posted in the forum before, Thought it would be fun to have all work gathered in one thread. Please say what you think I'm always open to make changes, although im guessing most of the things ill post here won't be finished.

Sweet texture work.
really solid hard surface work, I love how crisp you get the normal mapping, Ive still gotta try doing more hard surface normal mapping.

i'm redoing the textures for both the droid and the hover right now, at the moment they don't look good at all :P i think I'll post the new ones when I'm finished.. guess im a bit afraid of getting laughed at, anyways I'll hurry up :)...
thanks for all the nice comments everyone :) hope i will get something cool done over summer too.

ok so here is the color map for the EMP the weapon at the end. don't think i'll do anything more on this one so ill post it, had to make this model in a rush and the texture is half done, but anyway here it is.

nice stuff dude, I'd be more interested in the specmap than the diffuse personally, since that's the map where materials are defined, I really like the hoverbike-y thing. planning to put this in unreal ?
Jonas Ronnegard
05-14-2008, 07:53 AM
hehe yeah thats true though "I'm ashamed to say this" i have only adjusted the levels from the color map for this spec map.. only had a day to do all maps so as i have said before, i kinda rushed it :P
anyway here it is

*i have thought about trying to put some of my stuff into unreal, don't know how that engine works, but as all of these models already have been inside our "in house" engine i guess it wouldn't be such a hassle to take it into unreal "i think"

Ok here is some lowpoly texture work on slaughts model,, had a fun time doing this, didn't finish though as you can see, maybe ill do another texture later. i know it didn't go so well but i have only textured on these specs once before, also i learned alot from this, so i think that next time it will be alot better

thanks people hope to have something new to show soon,
"if my computer wasn't broken :P
what a cheap excuse :D
really like the stuff nontheless ;)
Jonas Ronnegard
06-11-2008, 05:36 AM
Haha yeah :P especially since my summer vacation just started, but honestly it did brake :P or atleast it won't work. First computer i buy in 5 years and the first thing it does is brake down, lucky me, more sun for me i guess.
my parents go on vacation in a couple of days so i hope to get into my dads comp and finish the weapon for the competition, might be a little tight though.

Been a long time since i posted something, been lazy during summer break, guess you have to live some too. Well atleast i started redoing some texture for old work
feels like im a bit rusty but it's been a while now, well this is without spec, not finished at all, just want to see if anyone has any good ideas. :)

Nice work Jonas keep at it man.

07-24-2008, 11:08 PM
aww no crits? really want someone to tear this up so i can make it better, not really done, but something feels really off.
+thanks ironhawk :) you keep at it to hehe.
I think it looks done. Time to start on something new! :)
Hey man, looks great.
Although some part of the model have wear and tear and other parts have no texture at all. For example the yellow caution tape shows age but the metal it's sitting on is crisp and clean. So I'd add a little more wear to those areas.
Keep up the good work!
*edit, just read that you said it was undone so I may have stated the obvious ;)
Jonas Ronnegard
07-27-2008, 06:05 PM
yes all the metal is still in basecolor so yeah, but really thanks for telling :) well i guess its hard to say anything before everything is finished and the specmap is added.

first week at school, guess im a 2nd year student now,, well had a rough week with alot to do and my gf come over this month, first time ive seen her in a year so it was hard to concentrate on work.
well here is this weeks work, 4 and a half day into it.

That's a really weird pipe right there. Whoever designed it must've slipped on the paper while he was drawing it :) I like the lighting even though it seems kind of basic.
The hole in the roof could use more motivation... like there's rubble everywhere except for under the whole? Looks very odd to me :)
Jonas Ronnegard
08-18-2008, 11:27 PM
yeah as you say there is alot to be done on this,, haha well that pipe is supposed to be broken :P if its that one you mean,, as for the hole in the roof, it wasnt really supposed to be pitch black, just i didnt have time to do it before the deadline
As for the rubble and stuff, i should really have baked some real volume into it and its supposed to contain alot more props and such. guess 4,5 day was a bit too short time for me as it is my first time doing an enviroment.
thanks for the crits :)
Jonas Ronnegard

please give some crits, not finished with the texture but would love some help with ideas.
1000tris 512maps. wow imageshack really destroyed the sharpness of the picture, "edit" or not, my webbrowser screen just sucked :P

cool jonas.. how long did it take?
you got some harsh waviness on the top of the water container.
Jonas Ronnegard
09-11-2008, 11:49 PM
IronHawk: Thanks man :) Well i did it when we got a free week from all the other arttest work so i was kinda lazy and tired so it took like 4,5 day hehe. By the way love how the starcraft turret turned out, want to do that one myself :P.
As for the waviness, well i should fix that :) thanks.

will be making a weapon a week for 5 weeks so here is the HP for this week, love my HP's need to spend more time on texturing though.

that hp gun looks great, but i'm curious you have a selection of different lowpoly models ranging from next-gen to old gaming platforms like the psp and playstation, what kind of portfolio are you looking to pitch in?
Jonas Ronnegard
10-21-2009, 02:32 AM
KonginChains:
Well actually at first i was just doing the lp's for fun, but after having so much fun with it i wouldnt mind working with it.
And well for me i think it wouldnt hurt to see that a person has knowledge of old style texturing, i know it may be good to not have a too wide portfolio but i think aslong as the stuff you have doesn't show any real lack of skill in that area it shouldn't matter, if it does please tell me and i would take it down.
Ged: thanks :)

Nope, instead of showing a lack of skill of, you've shown more skill than the current trend, the past-gen texturing looks great, keep it up.

Hi again,
here is an old Dice arttest that i didn't finish, so thought i would give the texture a go.
4208 tris and 1024 textures
http://i33.tinypic.com/2mxliet.jpg
looks great, I reckon the paint on top could be a little desaturated and lighter just a tad like its been left in the sun a bit, at the moment it seems slightly orange on top
Jonas Ronnegard
11-10-2009, 05:00 PM
That's a good idea Ged, ill probably try that out.
Here is a weapon i was working on a long time ago that i decided to finish up or atleast finish the highpoly for.
http://i37.tinypic.com/2wmp1ds.jpg
lovely highpoly weapon, looks rather uncomfortable to hold but has alot of style to make up for that.
Jonas Ronnegard
11-12-2009, 09:14 PM
Thanks Ged ;) yeah probably not so comfortable, but it's all about how u look together with ur gun anyway :P.
well here is one more
