Passing of a visionary author, and the last of the three golden age SF grandmasters.
This is the first in a long while of any sort of news of a public figure dying feels like it means something, personally. Rest in peace.

Certainly a great loss, but 90 years old...good run man.
One of the first science fiction authors I read as a kid. His gift's will keep on giving. RIP

Gotta say I wouldn't consider "mourning his loss", but rather celebrating his life. The guy lived until he was 90 and lead an incredibly accomplished life. Glad he was around but like Mongrelman said, DAMN good run.
hmm wasn't he accused of certain 'deeds' a while back. loved his work but that out a downer on his career

A random accusation by a British tabloid newspaper Ruz. It was found to be something they pulled out of their arse.
I need to re-read me some Clarke in his honor.

what, harl dropping the U out of honour? I dunno, it's been building up for a while
well i am pleased if the allegations were without foundattion because I did like his work. i have both 2001 and and 2064 in paperback and they are cracking good reads.
