Not sure if this is the right place to post this
Ok when I play any next-gen game on my computer It plays fine for about 5-10 minutes then I get some terrible 5-10 minute lag (Not playing online) and it goes from lag to no lag then back to lag and repeats. Now this never happened to me before my computer crashed from a virus. I'm positive it's not a problem with my graphics card etc because I youst to play FEAR, Call of duty 2, Bf2, and tons of other games on max settings with out the least bit of slow down, but now I cant even enjoy a game without all this lag. My graphics card drivers are all up to date, someone please help me out, I realy want to enjoy playing computer games again.

AMD Athlon(tm) 64X Dual
Core Processor 3800+
1.99 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS
