Biting wool.
Stems from my childhood, watching other kids using their teeth to pull off wool mittens, and doing it myself.
Just imagining biting woollen (knitted) clothing makes my skin crawl and my hair stand up.
Seeing other people doing it makes me hurl.

The potential to fall -- not heights, or falling, or a lack of railings. Just, if I could jump over it and plummet to my death, I cling to opposite walls and am terrified.
same with gmanx on wollen things/biting certain materials, no explanation of why though.

Mayonnaise, Ranch Dressing, Sour Cream and anything that may contain any of those ingredients. I'm working my way towards liking Cream Cheese now, but doubt I'm gonna take to Cheesecake anytime soon.

not really a 'phobia' but more unsettling discomfort of heights without railings at least to my chest and of deep water, like the ocean.
it's more of 'big ass creatures live down there in that dark blue water' than the water itself

I'm afraid of bad things happening to my wiener. I think I would rather die. Hah at least at this age.
Being buried alive is bad too.

I don't really know that I have any phobia's, but I certainly don't like insects when they're inside. Outside I don't care, but if they come into my territory it's squashing time. :| And they're gross in general.

when looking down great heights, I am afraid my glasses fall off. biggest phobia are injections (you know needles, blood taking... have some evil memories in early youth, some butcher nurses)
oeh i love insects, i always wanna pick them up for some reason..
i dont like larg crowds.. specialy in cities where people act like rats, pointless walking around and ...
Licking or biting wooden reeds. Blackboards... And of bugs laying eggs in my food.
hate biting cardboard or that dry paper from shredded wheat packets. Also flying!

Mosquitoes carrying deadly stuff & I'm pretty much with Tulkamir on the whole bug thing.
If ever in the ocean, boat/cruise/'falling from plane continuation of flying thread', being eaten by a shark.
Stray bullets ("dont live in projects or ghetto, still doesn't mean it can't happen")and pixels at 128! That's on the top of the list /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Dead Insects. Live ones are cool. Just dead ones, something about how they fall apart in your hands *shudders*.

Fears?
A dead ghost woman standing over my bed. I saw it when I was a kid, I'll never forget it.
Things I HATE:
Yellow Jackets I once feared them after the great summer war when I was a kid. A friend stood on an underground nest they went berzerk and stung everyone in the neighborhood, totally messed up. And for some reason since then they love to fuck with me. I'm cool with honey bees (we've got a truce), however Yellow Jackets and I will forever be at war.
I also hate house centipedes...they are an east coast thing look em up, my cats love to eat them.
I'm totally cool with spiders...I actually go out of my way to help them. They do after all eat yellow jackets:)

Fear is for scaredy-cats, I'm through with that junk.
OK, I'm scared of Cholden
and once, when he thought nobodies was looking I saw Xenobond kill a bum in a shadowy corner of the parking garage, I have trouble sleeping now.

Planes.
I enjoy heights (I always try to take the window seat) but I think its the feeling of not being able to control my own destiny if the plane were to crash. I don't think I would have a problem If I were piloting the plane.

Chalk under my fingernails. It was never the scratching of the blackboard I hated, just the chalk getting under the fingernails. Gives me chills. Also licking peaches.

you know, I think it's either Hornets or yellow jackets (possibly both), but if you crush one when it's trying to sting you, it will release some sort of pheromone that will alert others, and they'll attack. So perhaps you have been forever stained by some Yellow Jacket's Pheromone.
not a fear, but more of a disgust, but anything that looks as though insects have bore through it. Especially anything that maggots are having a go at.

I am scared of heights, of sorts. I mean, I am terrified of falling off a building or something, or a tall building, or anything connected to the ground. No fear of flying heights though...
Rats, bats, mice...I'd raise money to have them all put down.

I have a phobia of people who can't spell phobia...
I have another phobia of touching those tiny ridges on certain holographic cards. I hate the way they feel, especially when you scrape your nails over them. The sound alone is enough to make me rip it out of someones hand and set fire to it... but that means touching the devil toy and I can't do it.

you guys would hate how I trim my nails for climbing. After I clip them I claw at some concrete to get any ridges that might hang up.

The sound of strong winds blowing. I grew up in Ohio for a few years and remember having to hide in the basement when tornadoes would touch down in town. I can be dead asleep but if I hear wind I'll snap awake.

eyes. anxiety dreams are often about being close to blind (or just not having my contacts in), and doing something like being on stage for a part i haven't rehearsed.
i really don't like seeing needles/knives near eyes in movies, but the absolute WORST is scales on eyeballs. like in Invader Zim, and even that episode of the Simpsons, where their eyes scale over? creepy as all get out. i used to really hate it, i can't quite call it a phobia, but it is deeply disturbing to me.
Mark Dygert
10-02-2007, 01:39 PM
Oh, I have those same eye anxiety type dreams gauss, but mines a touch different. Normally something has happened that I won't be able to get contacts (post-apocalyptic world) and something happened to my glasses. I blame that episode of the Twilight Zone Time Enough at Last (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Enough_at_Last). Or my eye sight is so bad they tell me to just forget about trying to correct it, it will be the same even with the most powerful prescription. In one dream I accepted it and my sight adjusted to normal and I found out that it was the stronger prescriptions that where wreaking havoc on my eyes.
The eye crusty thing is creepy. But for me it does not reside in phobia land.

no that ruled. it's superman, man. and strangely, watching Un Chien Andalou (famous Dali film, woman appears to have eye sliced open, full-frame) didn't bother me either. it's scales on eyes.
The tacks used to nail down carpet underlay. They don't even have the decency to make them a nice shape like other nails, they're like something out of the iron age. Brrrrrrrm
