Feudal Japan Scene -help

Hello all,

This is my first post. I've been coming here for sometime now. I am a student at the moment, and for one of my classes I have to do a feudal Japan scene. I was thinking of doing a boat or something like that but I couldnt find any info on Japanese boat during that time. My question is does anyone that know about the boat of that time, or could anyone suggest a scene to do.
