View Full Version : head sculpt in zbrush

This was a learning piece made from some very simple geometry with about 30 quads in about one evening. I could post it in the WAYWO thread, but I'd like to hear what you think and maybe get some advice on how to improve my technique.
It was meant as a slight tribute to MoP's old spacegirl head, but in the end I was kinda doubtful whether it was a boy or girl /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Quick liquify edit follows.
some notes:
It's an all too common mistake to squish the face in sideview.
shapelss lips
chin could do with better definition
nose, particularly tip, not too well formed
your skull is too narrow in the frontview
seperate the lower eye lid and the "bag" beneath the eye
brow shaped like the McDonlands logo? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mainly you need to keep the underlying skull in mind. It looks like you painted the superficial features on an ellipsoid. Again, very common

Thanks Per. I think I did rather well for my level on this one, but you gave me lot of good things to work on. He still seems a little bit undone so I might find the time to work in some of the things you mention.

Nice stuff, great crit Per128. I've got to pick up Zbrush3 just for the red wax look, let alone the new features. It's just so damn pretty.
