I'm taking a Designing Interior Spaces class, where we are developing a playable level from the ground up. Problem is, some of the required work-flow is different from mine. I'm more of the, take my references/concepts and hop right into the modeling. First thing first, we need to setup blueprints of our proposed environment. So, I've been searching around for good examples of game oriented level design blueprints with little success. Does anyone out there have any tips on this, or some examples they can share?

Strategy Guide Books
Every game has one these days, and they often include overhead, top-down level layouts. Hit up your local game store and flip through a few until you find what you're looking for.

This is something I threw together for a top down. I added some texture and what not but you kind of get the idea from it. I dont know of what they want color wise I just went a little further with it. This is for a prototype I just got finished with. Hope it helps you out.

Yeah, examples like this is exactly what I'm looking for. This helps me out, thank you. More more more! :]

@chris: yeah, I was thinking that too, but my transportation is limited, so I'm hoping to find more examples online.

Also this shows more generic architectural maps, but good for ideas...

It depends on the type of level you want to make, the genre of game and what engine you're using.
