Honestly now, am I the only one who thinks this 55 dragons thing is being ridiculously overhyped? I mean, they're obviously well executed and there are a handful of nice designs but I find most of them to be really uninteresting and most of them just plain bad. yea me 2. The alphas is the only thing useful. Doesn't really help me at all far as tutorial wise. Dragon 4-4 is pretty good.

well this is the first ive heard of it.. and i think its pretty neat. :D for someone like me who doesnt really ever do characters or anything organic aside from rocks and environment things, i think its really cool to see the timelapses. also i may just be sorta "biased" toward it because im starting an axe soon (i think tomorrow?) that's got a dragon head and tail on it.

Did you look at the article? All the assertions are linked to their supporting documents. Wolfire is not "Apple biased"-- our game is cross platform Mac, Linux and Windows.

It would be great if you could give a concrete example after reading the source documents where we are "dumbing down" the content. I would also like to see some examples of your graphics programming skills since you seem to imply you are an expert on the subject.

Hah, as ridiculous as that was there are even worse ones IMHO. I think it's Law and Order, there's a whole episode revolving around a couple of fat slobs that neglect their child in favor of leveling up in some WOW clone. There are some GENIUS lines like "16 gb of RAM, for optimal response times" or something like that. Anyway, it's epic. I think someone posted it, several pages back.

Yeah, me too. Hopefully if id makes a sequel it's not a disaster like Quake 4. No one that wasn't a hardcore fan would play it, I think. Their games are pretty amazing, but they isolate the fans and far more so, non-fans by constantly changing core elements, then not properly presenting the game.

For instance, strafe jumping just never ever looks right, unless it's facilitated by appropriate animations, you know what I mean?
