Hey folks,
does anybody know how I can have all polygons that have a certain number of vertices (or are just simply over 4 vertices) in my mesh selected. I wanna get rid of them...
I googled and asked some artist, but didnt found any useful stuff.
any help is appreciated.

I'm sure you know that you can force your model down to quads or tri's using turn to poly. I don't know how to select n-gons, but if you put that in your stack, you could toggle it on and off and at least see where your n-gons are.

Or you could try the "Select Polys by Vertex Count" script there, if you like.

Polyboost 2.0 x and higher for Max can select n-gon's
