I'm kinda sad I wasn't able to make it through our battle against CGchat... Between making a late entry and taking a trip to Florida near the end I just wasn't able to finish in time... anyways I just thought I'd share what I got modeled out... I went for the pewter figure look so I can take my time unwrapping it and procrastinate about finishing the texture job one day:p ...anyways a few of the other fat ninjas either entered and\or were inspired by the contest and that stuff is posted here (http://www.sixfatninjas.com/Projects/war-general/war-general-index.html)

and the wire...

hahah... wow. so i click on this hoping to see some fairly well along WIP shots, but i definitely did not expect that /images/graemlins/smile.gif
definitely impressed with how well you've preserved the lines and attitude of the concept, great stuff. i'm looking forward to the textured version, but the pewter figure look works more than well enough!

Wow, really stunning work. It's a superb model, and very faithful to the original concept. Too bad everyone was already dead, or he would have given some CG Chatters a serious snipping! /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Very very cool! I love the attention to detail. I actually like him a lot more with the metal theme than the crustacian. Coolness overwhelming! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice to see the fallen raise up from their own ashes. It's always good to see quality art, even if its a touch late =D

Thanks guys... glad you dig it. This contest was badass... I probably won't bring him back down to comp specs anymore though Sectaurs:( I really really want to get around to texturing him up proper though (cinematic style)...Just gotta find a few more hours in the day...

Love it!, simply LOVE IT! I like the pewter finish actually, gives it that metal toy feel, which would be cool to have this as a full 3d model on my desk...should look into that Bird:)

Yeah... love the pewter. You're going to have to pull off some sick texturing to beat that.

A challenge would be to see this pewter looking worn. In the way that you would see the silver worn off in places showing a copper/different alloy underneath. Especially in the complex raised areas. That would be sweet, because I think everyone loves the pewter/armor look... to preserve that look but break it up with some weathering.
Sith Happens.
