looks like it beats Aeon Flux at its own game, I'd check it out.

I didn't like equilibrium. Gun kata is stupid.

for 8 bucks, it would kill 2 hour, and i'm sure i'd enjoy it. it is the same story as aeon flux though. But I hav'nt seen that yet either.

The whole hot female kicking ass in tight leather is getting really lame.
Someone make a movie about fat ugly combat chicks already.

It made me laugh. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif Man, sci-fi is being murdered these days in the name of marketing to 16-26 year old gaming geeks.
Hopefully Aronofsky's "The Fountain" (http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thefountain/large.html) will bring back some respectability to the genre.

Looks like a fun movie. Milla Jovovitch is a crucial component of my Fantasy Sex Sandwich, too, so I have to see it.
"Because I hate humans," is a great line. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Yep, looks like fun to me!
Only things I didn't like were the fact that they used the same music that the Matrix did (come on, there must be more generic-orchestral-dance music out there!), and the guy saying "Are you mental?" just sounded lame and out of place.

Of course, I'm gonna see it. Looks slick and very graphically styles. As well as having a lot of fights. I am really getting sick of dialogue these days... No one writes good dialogue any more, and I don't have the patience for "Quiet scenes in movies any more either".
Scott
look shit to me. another example of style over content. In fact they should make it a silent movie, might be more fun
i have no truck with a film where the trailer bores me to tears ...
that trailer is everything that's bad about the modern world.
Ooh, that looks great! Aeon Flux meets Equilibrium.

First thing I thought, too, like Justin: How come Aeon Flux didn't look like this? I can stand to watch Milla for a couple hours. Hell, I have a list of women I could watch do dishes for an hour, and she's on it. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Looks like good popcorny action goodness. Milla Jovovich sure likes being a superhuman fighting actiony vixen doesn't she?
I'm with Joolz though, body armor made of glass? Why not just give them paper bags for helmets!

Don't mind me, but i think they should cast Christopher Walken for the lead role.

I just saw this trailer (or clips of it) on the Sci-Fi channel tonight. Is that Jem's "24" being played? Sounded like it to me, but I can't imagine how that track ended up attached to this film...

hmmm the dialogue was kinda'....meh...and the visual style doesn't grab me either. That song at the end is interesting. Who sings it? Sounds like Milla Javovich is singing it.

24, by Jem.
I think is the one you're thinking about... it was in the trailers. I thought it was by her as well.

No, it's not that, she just creeps me out. I think they should have cast the underworld lady. Kate Beckinsale was it?
it got a nice 4% on rotten tomatoes. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/10004504-ultraviolet/

was I the only one who thought this movie was a comedy... i mean come on.. the opening credits tell you that it's going to be a cheesy bad movie.. the director totally knows it and makes it as horrible as he can for you.. miserable plot, bad acting, silly directing, miserable special effects....
Hot dang I loved it! It was like an over-the-top bad IMAGE comic book from the 90s....everything horrible about comicbooks thrown into one horrible movie... I was practically laughing the entire time.

Yah Rotten Tomatoes, a triumph for good taste!
I still can't understand how anyone could watch that trailer and think it was advertising a good film!!!!

Sometimes a mindless action movie is refreshing, Ror. I thought the trailer for UltraViolet looked much better than Aeon Flux. The style, speed and action in the movie looked really entertaining. I haven't seen the film yet, but I'd like to.

Yup, Chronicles of Riddick, Transporter2 and The Island.. refreshing mindless action films that I enjoyed for what they were... Ultraviolet still just looks utter bollocks though /images/graemlins/smile.gif
