Position Information
Title - Terrain Modeler
Type - contract position
Starts - immediately
Duration - 6+ Months, with opportunities for future contracts
Time Commitment - to begin on this project, a minimum of 30 hours per week is required
Compensation - competitive, depending on experience
Software Required - 3D Studio Max 7
About This Position
Creation of environmental landscape models and textures for Next Gen game using 3D Studio Max 7. Includes modeling of in-game terrain/caves as well as high poly source models for normal maps. Final terrain will be mapped with Normal, Diffuse, and Specular textures.
Requirements:
• at least one shipped title in your resume
• low poly and high poly modeling experience
• experience with geometry-generated normal maps
• experience with UV unwrapping
• experience with texturing 3D models
• familiarity with using multiple tileable materials to create final material
Portfolio MUST Include:
• realistic terrain modeling and texturing for real-time display
• high and low poly models for normal mapping, emphasis on terrain modeling
• demonstrate ability to model from concept, with strong ability to improvise appropriate details
Desired Skills and Pluses:
• familiarity with Unreal technology art pipeline
• familiarity with ZBrush
Score Extra Points with:
• the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound
• X-ray vision
• ESP
