COOL and yuck... what is that last one, on wait I don't want to know!

Yeah, it's like one of those "guess what this is" things you see on the back of science magazines for kids.

That last one looks like someone using their laser pointer on their body somewhere. Can't tell where though. Maybe the palm of a hand?

Good stuff though. I like the image you created (first one).

Nipple? ewww

I'm getting frustrated with digital cameras, and I don't feel like a photographer while using them. I'm thinking about switching over to antique SLR's, and maybe one basic Digital SLR for design work. The film camera themselves are a bargain, made to last, and getting a roll developed and put on CD is cheap these days. Plus there's the added knowlegde of learning how to take great shots without 50 failed attempts.

My best from the past month:

I know what you mean Elysium, I have a Minolta SLR from 1976, which I've been dying to use, but first I'd like to also learn how to develop my own film.

The first home I buy needs to have a basement or attic for a darkroom, and a small studio. You can find B&W enlargers on Ebay.

I'm guessing that the last photo is an illuminated nipple.

mmmmmmmm nipple....

Took this a couple of weeks ago, on the cycle into work. That boot is still there, although it was frozen into a puddle this morning.

I know what you mean, but cant say i agree, the difference for me is that with film you still get 50 failed shots, but you just don't know about it for a week untill you get it developed, also film tends to stop you experimenting as much as digital because it costs so much (relativly) to develop. I find my self taking more pictures i know will work with film so dont get to experiment as much as with digital, i would never have used diodes for lighting with film, but stuck to flash or 3 point lighting just to make sure i got some reasonable shots.

BTW very nice grasshopper, so difficult with living objects trying to get close enough without frightning them and still not swaying about more than a mm to keep them in focus.

You work as a machinist in a dildo factory?? Judging by the green things.

Anyways digital is cool but pictures lacks the character that film based vintage cameras create.

I have learned to enjoy using both my digital (Fuji S5000) and my ol' school Nikkon SLR. It's nice to have a digital camera, be able to take a quick framing shot, review it and then take a final shot with a traditional SLR, if desired.

I'll throw some digitals up here soon. I have some black and whites and I need to get developed.

I don't have anything recent with my webstuff but I took this with my lil' Canon S30. The color is pretty right on, surprisingly. I noticed digicams have trouble with strong colors in bright light. My flowers n' such tend to bleed in bright sunlight. I wonder if the newer cameras have dealt better with that. Waddyathink? Nice post BTW, Tim. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I know Eric painted his sons hair just for the colour coordination /images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Bob that rose is a blooming beaut, but not possible to get those shots atm i guess? what is the temperature at the moment, any more snow to take pics of? we just got rim frost here, very pretty and all that but a bit cold to go out and take pics in, any other sugestions for subjects?

Chriss, i am sooo jelous, thats a real dream trip, i would also liked to have seen how quickly the nature changes as you go up the mountains.

Tim, you're right, the roses are all gone. We haven't had any snow yet thank goodness. Subjects? My fav's have always been nature and landscape stuff. I also like to shoot airshows, hot air balloon fests. Large family gatherings are a hoot, too...you gotta get up on the people. My Dad always said to fill your eyepiece with the subject.

Hey, you're in Denmark, right. Aren't there lots of cool castles and ole bridges n' stuff. There's prolly tons of historic architecture to shoot not to mention Danish babes (don't tell Caro I said that to you...lol). /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, Jay, you into BF2? My clan has a bunch of guys from Canada, eh? We have an adult group with our own server and website. We're called [RCA] for Royal Coalition Assault. Take a look, here ----> http://www.rcarocks.com/ It's a great bunch of guys. Stop by for a game anytime. IP: 205.177.13.21: 16567 We're having our first match tonight at 8:00 pm but mostly play for fun. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

sal, after working on it all day everyday, I usually don't get around to playing much at home. We have lots of internal playtests that fill my BF2 needs:) But I'll probably hit the servers a bit once special forces comes out. Thanks for the tip.

Nothing too artsy about these, but they are my most recent photos. They are from Greenfield Village, which for those of you who don't know, it is a historical place that Henry Ford created to remember history. It has many buildings from the Wright Brothers and Thomas Edison, including Edison's invention factory and the Wright Brother's shop. Anyways, a couple things I thought you guys might like for modeling inspiration.

I'll use links to keep from killing the slower connections:

Mike did you use a tripod for that shot? It's so hard to shoot real night shots with the digicams. Mine does have all manual....I'll have to try something like that. Any idea was your settings were? /images/graemlins/smile.gif

MikeF
11-22-2005, 06:29 AM
I just freehanded it, that why the majority turned out so poorly. My camera has settings for night time, but the auto focus always turns off so theres no chance to get a clear shot unless your zoomed all the way out. I just tried a few on all my settings but auto focus worked best in the end.
